Shortly after the departure of Jen Majura as one of the band's official guitarist, Evanescence has just introduced its new lineup!
Tim McCord, who's been playing as the band's bassist since 2006, will take over Jen's role as guitarist!
As to the brand new addition to the band, Emma Anzai, of Sick Puppies, joins as the new bassist.
Please, give Emma a very warm welcome to the band and let's also celebrate Tim's brand new role in the band. Exciting!

I'm looking forward to what this means for the sound. I've seen people on Twitter comment that Tim played guitar for Say You Will and Blind Belief (which doesn't fill me with too much confidence because they're fairly bland songs). Others have commented that Tim plays a 7-string which will likely bring a much lower and heavier sound.
The bass on Sick Puppies seems fairly light? I wouldn't even say they're as heavy as Evanescence. Emma's voice is a lot lighter and more likely easier to harmonise with Amy's.

I'm excited for this! I love Emma and it'll be awesome to see Tim play guitar! I'm sad Jen is leaving, but this is an awesome lineup!

This all seem pretty exciting, I'm looking forward to it! However it does also seem like it could be temporary..

This all seem pretty exciting, I'm looking forward to it! However it does also seem like it could be temporary.. That’s the vibe I’m getting as well. I think she’s just doing bass for the shows this year. Then when the next Ev album is released 10 years from now it will be someone new 🤣 I’m joking but I’m not ruling it out. I’ve seen some videos and Emma is killer on bass so let’s see what these shows bring.

Tim has been writing guitar parts along with bass ones from the first time he ever wrote with Amy for Evanescence. And I think they'll just be embracing that from now on. And they'll just hire a bass player for a tours only whenever they need to. And frankly, I think it makes sense.

m24 Honestly, this is the vibe I get too. When Terry left (which to me still feels like it was for health reasons/not wanting to do another tour, but I don't want to speculate too much), it did feel like they were desperate to find anyone who could play who also ticked the boxes of being friendly and Jen had the added bonus of being female and a vocalist for harmony purposes, but for whatever reason she never seemed to click with the band as whole quite as much as she clicked with the fanbase and - to a degree - Amy (although I think some of that was the fact that she was another woman in a male dominated band so they had that in common). The biggest problem with the benefit of hindsight is that Jen was an outsider coming into a band that had been hanging out and playing together since 2007 - that's a long time to establish chemistry and a close friendship/dynamic. No matter how well and quickly you click with a close knit group like that, there are always going to be in-jokes and references from before Jen was in the band that she wouldn't be able to contribute to. No matter how much you close the distance, that sort of thing will always be there. A few of us caught Jen outside and alone in the smoking area for one of the Synthesis gigs and although she was typically lovely and friendly and I (think) she's the only smoker in the band, it did seem kinda weird that none of the band/crew had gone out with her to hang out and chat. Granted, she may have actively been seeking some alone time/reflection before the gig which we figured might be the case and we kinda approached with a "completely cool if ya busy/would like to be left alone, but we'd love to hang out if you're up for it", but in reflection it does make you wonder if beneath the on-stage chemistry, maybe things weren't clicking as well as they seemed to be. I guess we'll never know. Either way, I'm positive Emma will be a great fit. She's kind of a known entity, they've already established a solid friendship and even if it does just turn out she's there for the next few tours, I'm sure it'll work well and they'll all have a good time. It does also make me wonder that if the thing with Emma is temporary/flexible then if they can't find a session bassist for last minute gigs whether they'll actually switch to a 4 piece with Tim back on bass since I'd imagine he knows the guitar parts and bass parts for more or less every Evanescence song by this point and Troy is more than capable of holding his own on guitar if it came down to it.

(The original post to which this is a reply to has been deleted.)
Let's not start speculating, shall we (or freely paraphrasing for that matter)? We can find plenty of negative opinions regarding both sides but this is not the place to start drama.

Yeah, I have a feeling that stories will probably start surfacing in favour or against both sides. It's important to remember that none of us truly know what went on behind closed doors and it's a healthy reminder that nobody is perfect, too. Amy definitely has traits that can be pretty hostile and definitely has her off days. I can fully believe Jen has too, and if you have the misfortune of meeting anyone on their off days then you're likely to form a negative opinion of them. My experiences with Jen were overwhelmingly positive, but I certainly never got to know her on a deeper level so can never claim to have known her as a person.
All we've really got to go off are the statements made (and kept online) by Jen and the band, and both of those make it clear that all parties are at least trying to be professional and considerate about the whole scenario, which is both admirable and worth bearing in mind.
