Until I read that post, I genuinely thought I was the only person who related to the metaphor of being like a phoenix (in a seemingly continuous lifelong cycle of rising, falling, dying and rising again out of my own ashes). I kind of thought that Amy must have some connection to it, as this has always been what "always find my place among the ashes" meant to me, and I sort of assumed it must have meant something similar to Amy. Seeing now just how many fans have long related to this idea of their life and their experiences feeling like they're tied to the life and death of a metaphorical phoenix is incredibly comforting. As much as it's difficult seeing how much people you care about are struggling, it is comforting knowing that people out there may just understand you enough for you to not feel so alone.
