The song starts off with piano and then the opening line, sounds of lead guitar and drums come in lightly. After "use my voice" is sang, the anthemic backing vocals come in with full on guitars and drums.
Drums continue with the next verse. Loose guitars and even Moog come in here and there.
Anthemic backing vocals come in with choirs...
It's hard to explain this song. It gets harder/rockier.
Those expecting guest features are doing to be disappointed. I'm not sure why people are thinking this since Amy did say thank you for lending their voices - they lent their voices on backup vocals.

I like the lyrics. Must admit I didn't really process them on first listen as there was so much going on musically, but it fit the song really well and I love how Amy's voice weaves in and out of everything. She sings it so well.
I think I'm probably gonna have to listen to it a few more times before giving any proper feedback as there was a lot to process, but gist is I really like it. It's actually structurally similar to TGIO with the same kind of dynamic, but feels a little more stripped down/simpler with a punchier chorus helped out by the artist cameo backing vox. Nice heavy breakdown again. Again it ended too soon for me, but in this case it kind of felt right for the song as it goes straight back into the chorus pretty naturally. Overall I prefer it to the TGIO so far and TGIO is still deffo growing on me.
Production more or less identical to the first two singles, which personally I'm absolutely 200% fine with.

I've been listening to a decent quality file for most of the morning now.
I still don't think it's a great song, and lyrically it's pretty generic Ev and uses a lot of Amy's popular song phrases and words, but the production is what is leaving me the most disappointed.
I've heard a lot of people disliking the mixing and production of Ev songs lately and normally I've been able to look past some of the flaws, but this song I think broke the camel's back for me here. There are so many parts that sound clumsy and muddy. The mixing from the bridge through the end is demo-quality at best. The vocals are drowned in the versus. The music cut outs sound amateur. The electronic programming sounds forced and unnatural. There are very noticeable volume inconsistencies. I know I'm probably coming off nit-picky but for a band of Ev's caliber, I really have high expectations on production quality and this is not working for me.

That's probably because the song haven't been mastered like the rest of the songs. The mastering is done when all songs are recorded and mixed. So from what I imagine, they're releasing as is until they drop the album as a whole which will be remastered - more polished and coherent. However, this album is suppose to sound more raw, so why complain about the production? Because it is raw, unpolished etc. I also think it's been produced like that because the songs production unravels after a few listens. Also I heard a string instrument (cello) just before the second chorus on the left ear, can someone confirm?

And I also thought I heard strings but I kept listening closer and I'm pretty sure it's programming and sounds.

Wow! I think this is the first song out of The Bitter Truth that had the actual effect new Ev music used to have on me. It's easily the best song out these first three. Even if it is a tad repeptitive. And I love the mixing. I lvoe AMy's voice but it's something that needs to be handled in a certain way because lately it get a bit over powering. It was too intense in The Game is Over, and the guiars were drowned out.
With this song, I feel like I can hear everything! And I like the breakdown a lot! And the bridge! And the last notes Amy sings at the end! And the chorus! Man, if they had released this song, I feel like a lot of people would feel very differently about this record. Now, THIS is a single. I love Wasted on You and The Game is Over in their own way, but I feel like music is often affected by the context of a record, When TGIO came out it changed how I felt about WOY, made me appreciate it a bit more, and I guess the same is going to happen now. Really wished we had gotten the first 4 songs together.
But in a way I'm grateful we didn't cause that's why we got the individual videos, so that's cool.
I'm ready for "Yeah right", hopefully next month.
PS. I really think Use My Voice might do really well in the public, and I lvoe that too.

Well, it’s not my favourite Evanescence song ever but I do like it. I’m not sure how effective the chorus really is but I appreciate what they’ve tried to do, and I enjoy the rest of the song. I really like the verses especially and Amy’s backing vocals. Wish that bridge was longer though, feels like something is missing ...
What I do like is that every song so far from this album has sounded really different from the others. I hope that continues because even if there’s a song here or there we’re not overly keen on, it will make for hopefully their most diverse album with something for everyone. I’m really happy they’re trying new sounds.

I finally found it to listen to it and I agree with most of y'all, it's not my favorite and while it IS more commercial I'm not sure how much play it'll get. I don't dislike it by any means and I'm sure it'll grow on me but for now TGIO is the winner of the singles so far. Still can't wait for the video!

My winner so far is still WOY, but I liked the song, love all the amazing women doing backing vocals, love the bridge especially. I wonder if it is going to be Tim, Troy and Jen doing the backing vocals live or they will use the track.
Like someone else said, I am liking how different each new song sounds from the previous ones.

It's just been released in my time zone. I loved it! It's on repeat already. I can't hear the other gals' backing vocals. They all sound like a wave of Amy's own vocals. Lyric-wise, I loved it and it's the most political/sort of feminist out of all TBT tracks we've got so far. I'm happy they're going down that route with lyrics and sound. As for production/mixing, I've always feared Nick's approach to them taking into account how loud and messy Ev3 is. It may have been intentional though, since Amy/the band were mad at Wind-Up as the label wanted a heavy rock album instead of the originally planned 'experimental electro album'. Haha. Anyway, the production/mixing on the new songs may be the raw sound they are going for. On the song credits on YT it says Amy plays harp on the song, and I just can't hear it.
