^Ditto. That opening line is also a little awkward to sing and get into the emotions right away I feel. Once it gets to "I didn't wanna escape" it starts to pick up but I've never been a huge fan of the vocal dynamics/styling in this song. I also miss the intermittent piano But it's a good remake despite and I love it!

It's actually the same version that they did on Zoom. Does anybody feel like the instruments are louder than the vocals? How? This version doesn't have backing vocals in the first verse/chorus. Tbh I'm a tad bit disappointed with this, I don't know why. I'm going to have a relisten but it didn't leave me feeling wow like the live version did. Some of the instrumentation is crap tbh. Edit: I had a re-listen. The mixing isn't as great as it could've been, it's too narrow and not spread out as wide as I'd have liked it to be. The annoying metronome beat isn't needed and takes away value. The chords when played sound too harsh and eventually get fatigue in the ears. It sounds a bit too amateurish if that makes sense. I usually love their work, I still love this to a degree but it's a bit of a let down.

Not a fan of this at all. The production, the instrumentation, the mixing.....none of it great. Such a wasted opportunity. It honestly sounds like it was recorded at a high school or something.

It sounds better when played on speakers. I like it a bit better now than previously but the productions does bother me and it doesn't hit as well as it did live. I appreciate we have a studio version but I feel it's slightly overdone. I enjoyed Nick on Ev3 and I think he should stick with that type of music. I'm not saying he shouldn't do stuff beyond but it's not working imo.

I think I prefer the version released earlier this year, the live sessions. The studio one was very dull and forgettable in my opinion. The one from the sessions was stunning. Should have just mastered that and put it on their album. Maybe I am biased because that one featured Amy's vocals more.

I'm with you on that one, and I've seen multiple people share the same opinion.
There is just too much going on with the instruments, it's distracting. Piano-vocals was the perfect combination. Oh well.

For some reason, I enjoy this song much more when watching the video, but really not too bothered without. What is that about?!

For me I just enjoy watching people sing and do their little hand motions and body movements as they get into the song. It helps me get more into the song too.
