I'm very curious about the place holder image on youtube. It looks like its from an angle under a desk loooool
Maybe this is just going to be a lockdown video as an extra something and then when this is all over they will shoot a proper music video?

Nick did Ev3, yes, but he also did Diamond Eyes and Koi no Yokan with Deftones. So the man can dabble into very atmospheric and brutal sounds. We might get something very different than Ev3... Honestly, I thought EV3 was one of the most polished, well mixed album in their repertoire. Sonically it sounds like an Evanescence album, albeit minus the choir which I missed terribly but some of the songs didn't need them. There was so much going on already. That's not to say Fallen and TOD were mixed poorly because that's far from the truth. Synthesis, on the other hand, didn't have the best mixing, with the exception of Imperfection. Her voice was VERY overbearing and just didn't blend well, and I almost feel like a lot of the orchestral pieces were somewhat faded into the background which was disappointing (looking at you, Your Star). That being said, sure, The Chain could have been mixed better, but the more I listen to it, the more elements I hear. I think, and who am I kidding, even HOPE, that it will be solid production-wise. I agree. I think it's because in Synthesis, her voice sounds lile it was sucked dry, and for it to sound natural in a normal orchestral setting, it would need to have a bigger reverb and some delays, bc orchestras are usually in big halls and such. |

That's gotta be it. Every other album had varying amounts of reverb on her vocals and it created atmosphere over the music. If any project deserved that sort of production, it was Synthesis. Yes! Evanescence is gonna need our help more than ever to gain traction in this new era. With everything being shut down, it’s gonna be hard for this song to chart, let alone the whole album when it releases. So stream it everywhere!!!

I already set my reminder and I'll share the video on IG.
I almost can't control myself with the excitement of this new era! I loved the little teaser where we can see part of the lyrics and it's a dark vibe which I love. I already spotted one of Amy's favorite words (frozen) besides "lie" and "bleeding" I honestly hope for more variety on words and themes lyrically alas TOD.
So she wasn't lying when she said Ev is taking risks on this one, I'm digging the vibe so far!
