Hey folks,
Obviously many of us are pretty shaken up after the chaos of yesterday's appalling acts of vandalism and poor organisation on the part of a minority of concertgoers and the festival organisers respectively, and it's pretty obvious now that a lot of damage was caused with some of the kit being irreplaceable.
This said, I'm wondering if now is the time where we join together to give back to the band and help them through doubtless one of the toughest points of their career. I should think it'll be a while until they know the full financial cost of the damage (the sentimental value will of course be a lot more), but it would be a nice gesture on our part if we can shoulder some of that burden.
Just putting the idea out there for now, but what do you all think to possibly organising some kind of fundraiser for the fanbase to help get the band back on their feet?

I think this is a great idea! We should start a GoFundMe.

Pretty sure they must have insurance.
I love Evanescence, but the fans shouldn't pay for this. The festival should be the ones paying. If we start a fundraiser, I'm afraid they won't take their responsabilities for the damages. Unless Evanescence ask us directly, we should wait
My 2 cents.

TDS You raise a good point there. Update: a couple of fans are trying to get in contact with band management to see how to progress, as obviously we want this done properly so any funds raised go where it's needed. Even if it's just a little extra to help with overheads or even something creative/non-monetary, I think it would be good to do something to show solidarity with the band at a time like this.

Live Talent needs to take responsibility of the way everything was handled - all security issues, insufficient information about the delays and the complete lack of attempts to stop the people destroying the stage. However, I don’t believe they will pay and most likely insurance will cover it. That being said, the idea of the fundraiser is nice and it shows how much fans care but I don’t know how much we can actually help.

It's a nice gesture, but I doubt the band need money, their insurance will cover this and Im sure the promoter will have hell to pay too. I think there might be other ways we can show our support?

XD Anyhow. I think this is so, so sweet and I'd like to participate. However, I want to wait until we hear back from management. Maybe until then we'll hear more about their insurance, whether or not Live Talent will pay up, etc. And if we continue moving forward with a GoFundMe, we'll know how to even get the funds to the band.
