Some of you mentioned Amy complained about sales - where did she say this? I would like to read that or those interview(s). Thanks!

First of all, I want to say that I'm GLAD we have this conversation. It has been on my mind all year since they announced Synthesis. Yes it feels like Evanescence is always doing the same thing, with Synthesis, with the Boxset, but I truly believe Amy is aware of that. I suspect the boxset to be an agreement they reached with the Wind Up (or whatever it's called now) before their departure. A best of. But even Amy knew that this idea was kinda weird for a band that has only three albums out. Cue Lost Whispers the intro, the remaking of Even in Death, the inclusion of Together Again and If You Don't Mind ( which hadn't be officially released, only performed). I think they went on tour to really bond with Jen, get her used to the songs. And then again, Amy knew there wasn't any new stuff, cue Take Cover. Synthesis is a passion project, but it still a redo of a lot of songs. So we got Hi-Lo and Imperfection. We should not forget though that they are actually writing stuff for a next project. Tim is working on something, Amy too. By the way Amy said they are gonna take a ( long due) short break, I want to believe that something is already cooking. Amy also lost her brother, so she needs more time too. Evanescence is touring right now with Lindsey which can only be beneficial to them, because with the recent projects, I don't think the band sucessfully reached out to new fans. Everything feels pretty intimate, and even in interviews, Amy seems to adress her established fanbase more than the potential fans Evanescence could have (that's how it feels to me at least). Finally, yes the guys seem pretty over it. I think Jen just enjoys playing a new instrument and doing vocals. She was beaming when they performed Hi-Lo yesterday. So, she is still enraptured by the experience. And, did you see how Tim responded to the fans who said he would get back home and leave the band during the tour to be at his daughter's birthday ? Tim is very loyal to Amy and those rumours really hurt him. Troy doesn't like the stool but I think he realizes this is important to Amy, I hope so. I am still very worried for the guys, because I don't want anyone to be bored of this tour or take it as a chore. So I cross my fingers and I hope they do find an interest in what they do. I believe it's from the Kerrang interview: evthreads.proboards.com/thread/2558/kerrang-2018-cover

I am still very worried for the guys, because I don't want anyone to be bored of this tour or take it as a chore. So I cross my fingers and I hope they do find an interest in what they do. I think it's fair to say the band other than Amy are ambivalent about it. Troy's an old school rock n' roller and so's Jen. When I spoke to her earlier this year I asked her what it was like playing pedals straight into P.A. and she said she missed the old school setup of shredding with a half stack behind her. But they're also loyal to a fault and incredibly humble. I asked Will what he thought of playing mostly digital drum pads and he half jokingly said he'd happily play with matchsticks if that was all he was given to play with. I feel like that kind of sums it up. This is more of an Amy passion project than anything, but they're all determined to get something out of the experience and are still enjoying it in their own ways. They're all willing to compromise a little to keep Amy happy as long as she's prepared to do the same for them and I feel like the inclusion on this tour of the more traditional band+orchestra cover to close the set may have been pushed through by Jen and Troy in particular for this very reason. They're loving the change of pace, but still don't want to lose track of the traditional band setup completely. It's in their blood to rock out on stage. As fans we often love to search behind the scenes and maybe see things which aren't necessarily there (I'm pretty bad for this myself - I love speculating), but I certainly don't think there's any risk of this lineup falling apart any time soon as a result of the differing interests. They're all prepared to openly share their differences and that's actually healthy in a band, far more so than bottling up and I think Tim's response to the rumours last year sums it up completely. They're a family, a family with differences, but with a lot more love; it's those differences which make them so good live and will undoubtedly give us something pretty special when Ev4 finally arrives.

I had the chance to watch some videos of the latest shows, Lindsey is so good, so entertaining to watch on stage. I like that they have been mixing the usual stuff with some covers, it adds a breath of fresh air to the tour, very good choice. Would be nice if Linsey collaborated on Evanescence's next album and came to visit on tour a few times.

I understand it on both sides... of course they need a break. They have been working and touring for a while, Amy just lost her brother... she needs time. Take it. But the other side... the band has been craving to do a proper follow up to EV3. I know they are frustrated with the lack of activity during sets for Synthesis. When Amy first announced it as a stripped of heavy guitars, strings and drums album.. I assumed that meant it was a solo project/tour. I am happy the band was apart of it, but with that said I am also sad to see them so discouraged with it. I know they need time, but I really that this last leg gets Amy motivated and inspired to do the follow up rock album soon. Not 5 years soon. And I say this as a loving fan... don't make me out to be a jerk about it. i love the fact that you were exactly right! Troy's an old school rock n' roller and so's Jen. When I spoke to her earlier this year I asked her what it was like playing pedals straight into P.A. and she said she missed the old school setup of shredding with a half stack behind her. i love this so much, thank you
