Does a quart of milk really costs 6 bucks in US?!! It all depends on where you live. In Hawaii milk cost is that high. Here in Michigan, milk is 2-3 dollars for a gallon. In bigger cities, things are more expensive.

I'm thinking, if the band makes a full rock album again, that might be good for the mood in the band overall. To me, it seems like this was mainly Amy's thing (synthesis), and the rest of the band is in it for her mostly, not because it's what they would like to do most. I'm not sure though if that's what Amy wants to do though (the rock record thing), but you never know with her. I don't agree with people saying that she's getting too old for touring (unless she would think so herself). Lots of older people still go on tour, it's more that she never seemed to like extensive touring in the first place. After a few months of touring, we always get interviews with her saying she's sick of it. As others have said, touring is the way to earn money (with any underground band). Their past two shows here in NL were sold out in a few hours!! (which really surprises me, I never meet people here who like EV!! Where ARE they coming from? Everyone I know is always hating on Amy (saying she can't sing or whatever - and most of the people saying that never even saw them live, they just replicate what they heard others say) and Ev (they're either called too mainstream or too goth, and NOBODY knows anything after BMTL and My Immortal) (yup, end of mini-rant) I also love the photo's for this shoot!! They look so badass You said it all! Synthesis is definitely a "Amy's thing" and it's always been since its announcement, and it's sort of linked to Ev's "broken record" as she said back in 2010 that the said album 'concept' would be "to take synthetic and atmospheric sounds and find a way to blur the line between organic and synthetic". And so she did on Synthesis! I'm happy she did it, but we've got only two new songs. However, I loved the reworking of their old material, even though some of those songs have like 7 versions (like MI, BMTL and Imaginary). Someone also said the band would end up being a "passion project", which is likely to happen now that we had a word from Amy, even though she hinted a new album.

Right sometimes when I read what people write on here I panic because it's speculation etc. I have known rumours to start from here and I shouldn't believe everything that's written on here. Not to mention it's funny when some of these rumours make it onto YouTube videos and fans start panicking I am not surprised they are tired. The sets are a lot longer, they are touring with an orchestra, putting in more effort and energy - rehearsals, soundchecks, tighter stage space, the fact there is more going on musically and around them when they are performing - if you thought working in the band alone was hard then think again! The fact they have never played with orchestra before doesn't help so I am not surprised one slight bit. So obviously they are feeling the blues. Synthesis sold 34,000 on debut in the US, that doesn't mean it didn't sell more. She may not be aware of that. However,to be honest what was Amy expecting? They only had 2 new songs on the album and like another user pointed out it is the only fresh material in 6 years. She should've released the 3rd Evanescence scrapped material along with Synthesis. She would've had a better chance at making more money or maybe done a deluxe with the rock versions instead of the instrumental versions which are although beautiful, not everyone wants. They could've released the rock versions a year later to entice people maybe? Also there was very little promotion for this album. An announcement on Facebook was made for it, followed by further posts, some messaging on twitter etc the usual social media. iTunes didn't have it anywhere noticeable. There weren't really many reviews before the album was put out. They could've benefited from reducing the price a little to entice people. Surely if they do that with Fallen can't they do it with other albums? The music video, although I do love it to a degree doesn't actually do the song justice and didn't really help with pushing for sales. I don't even think there was a push for it on radio. I was hoping more imagery or a story unfolding in the music video, instead of just visual arts. It didn't quite fit how the other music videos were like. So based on this alone and with it being a passion project and not the next real album, how do you think it would've fared? I mean in a lot of the live reviews Evanescence have been praised and it was meant to be more of a live experience than a studio album experience anyway. Furthermore, I met few people during the concert and they were newly introduced to Ev because they only new Ev through the typical classics. But what fascinated me was they wanted to know beyond this. So surely this is a winner if people are getting to know Evanescence beyond this and that too through touring? They might not be making the money through the album sales but they are through merchandising/touring. Even though Amy might hate it, they should tour more, especially when they are selling out. The next rock formatted album will do a lot better as it will be supported more by rock stations, magazines etc. There wasn't much of a market for the classical meets electronics. If they went rock and electronic it would've fared better. Or even just acoustic. So I don't know why Amy is disappointed with this result when she shouldn't be. I don't believe the band will disband after the next record. They only just left the label. What they need to do is start releasing new material (even if it is old - isn't that how everything started in the first place? Years of work on old material? ) I meant you have Perfect Dream, Your Love, You've Got a Lot to Learn, Take Cover, Find A Way, I'm sure they so much more lying around. These are songs people are yearning to hear bit I guess they have lost fans over this which is quite heartbreaking. What doesn't help them is they haven't released as much material as they could've done over the years so they have to play catch up. The whole covers project was picking up for Amy until she got busy with Synthesis. Synthesis was Amy's project so it would've been better to have it released as Amy's solo work tbh than Evanescence. Some of the reviews stated that and I think it would've received more positivity if it was released under Any than Evanescence. However, Any does need to keep at it with the band stuff and solo stuff, without ruining the love behind it but at the same time trying to survive. I really would like to hear an 80s style or more of the Portishead/Massive Attack style. They have done the eastern themes on the last album so maybe a different theme would work. What would work is a stipped back acoustic album or going back to their roots style album like Avril Lavigne is doing at the minute and LP did with returning to rock. That would also meant rather than evolving and strengthening melodies, making them complex etc maybe Evanescence should go back to doing something very simplistic. Simplicity can be beautiful and there shouldn't be any shame or degradation for it. This would take them back to the Origin or even Sound Asleep days. One more thing to note: when Synthesis was released it was competing against Taylor Swift so any promotion they did would've been lost to her, so someone might want to remind the band about this. There was no chance they were going to reach more sales if they were releasing rerecorded music in the first place.

This photo: I love it SO much and it's so badass ... but Amy's clothes, the shadow on her face, the way she's standing and looking at the camera in front of the band ... #God fathermother #Gangsta #Badguys #Badcops #CIA #Mafia #Dirtywork #EliminateHim #BigBoss #PewPewPew #Don'tMessWithUs Could be cool if Tim had a baseball bat on his shoulder, and Jen a shotgun in her left hand. and maybe a magnum in Troy's hands too. Oh I guess I got carried away. well, I don't remember if I ever saw such photo in Ev/Amy's photo shoots.

All I know is that I've got my fingers crossed super tight that Evanescence do come back with another great album! Hear! Hear! And also they need to improve their advertising since Synthesis didn't sell as much like Ev3 because it coincided with Taylor Swift as the previous user pointed out. I haven't seen any reviews about Synthesis and of course, the next album will be on 2022 or beyond that.

I haven't seen any reviews about Synthesis and of course, the next album will be on 2022 or beyond that. synthesis did not sell much because there was nothing new, only 2 new songs a lot of people expected an album of unpublished if the next album leaves only in 2022 will be more than 10 years without new album I think we can expect an album for 2020 at the most, I do not think amy was taking too long to release, after all synthesis can not count as something new synthesis only sold little because of the lack of news a lot of people do not like to always buy the same thing I'm sure if she had included all the material from the broken records the sales would be different Posts merged - Rark
