Rarkphoenix, PJ, turdyturderson & liminally: Thank you for taking time to reply...it gives us all a clear-er picture of the process (even thought someone said it -might- vary from country/venue) before a concert. I feel better and more prepared for when the time comes (for the M&G). I do feel sad that I won't get to interact with them for more than a minute or two but being in a soundcheck and toast with them, hell even in the same room/venue place!, its a once of a lifetime experience and can't wait for it!!! Also, can someone let me know (more or less) how long the show lasts?! I take it the band comes on stage approximately around 21:00pm, right? (*since doors open at 19:00pm) Tnx! Nat. You're so welcome!! So our show started at around 8pm (20:00), I want to say they were on stage by a little before 9pm (21:00pm), maybe even 20:30. We were out by 10:30pm (22:30)ish. Take that as a ballpark guess though, I think ours was a little longer. They said they were getting to play songs they hadn't gotten to play on the tour yet because our local orchestra had a professional harpist. I checked it against the song list in the book, and it doesn't look like they took anything out in favor of the songs with the harp. I think we also may have had 2 encore songs but it may have been three? I'm ashamed that I don't remember 😂 I'll double check the book and what encore songs we had for you when I get home. UPDATE Nov. 8th: [/u] Sorry it took me so long to get back to this. This has been.... a week. Anywho, after double checking the list outlined in the program it looks like we got all the songs listed. So maybe the dates where they didn't have a harpist those songs were omitted? I definitely want to say there were three encore songs. I know one of them was Speak to Me, one was Good Enough, and I'm pretty sure the last one was Swimming Home (that's why I don't clearly remember it, because I was SOBBING). * A little bit of further research before I post something totally incorrect shows that's usually the standard 3 songs they're doing for encore. Here's a link to the "average set list" I found, in case that'll help you guesstimate better: www.setlist.fm/stats/average-setlist/evanescence-43d6bfc7.html?tour=Synthesis+Live NOTE: [/u] and this is for anyone who attends the show because I saw people complaining about it on Facebook: yes there is literally about 30 minutes where you will get to sit and listen to JUST the orchestra. If you read your program you will not be shocked to see this (but you'd be surprised, a fellow VIP complained because she had stashed her program in her hotel room and didn't read it) but the process that follows afterwards is a little confusing. After the orchestra is finished playing, the house lights will come up, and there's anywhere between a 15-25 minute "intermission". This is not announced, but if you wanted to grab a drink or use the bathroom now is the time to do so. If you are not sure how much time you have, ask some of the staff at your venue!). I was personally too worried about how much time there was so I just stayed in my seat. TL;DR: Amy said from the very conception of this show that it was going to be an event that blended their music and the experience of attending a "fancy" orchestra performance. Even if classical music is not your thing, don't complain about it. Their set list is pretty much the entirety of "Synthesis", so you aren't being cheated out of seeing them perform longer to make time for the orchestra. Go in with an open mind and you may even find you enjoy the selections (they're beautiful, just saying). At the very least - be respectful of the experience and atmosphere that Amy and the band have worked very hard to create.

So I have a bit of a dilemma. I have tier 2 for the Chicago show. I've seen around that it looks like they want you to show up 5:45 for tier 2, can anyone confirm? I won't be able to make it to the venue until about 6:30-6:40. I'm wondering if we will still be able to get our VIP items? I don't mind being late at all if we're still able to get in and get our stuff. I just don't know if they with hold your stuff from you.

At my show on Friday there was a guy that came and sat next to me at around 9:00 PM. He left after a couple songs and came back a few minutes later with the VIP merch so I think you will probably still be able to get it? Not 100% sure though.

Someone who was a bit late told me they were able to get their VIP merch bundle from the merch booth when they asked about it so that's what I'm likely going to do. I emailed the venue and the VIP people but they haven't replied yet.

Hey just curious if anyone that did the vip Meet and Greet managed to give the band gifts? I know it will probably vary form venue to venue. I'm going to the Show in Sydney on the 14th/ Tomorrow and I want to put together a little goody pack or just a letter for the band but I'm worried 1 they won't let me in the venue with it or 2 they won't accept it at the Meet and greet.
Any one with experience with this that can give advice?

Sorry for bringing this topic up but since the concert last week, one thing bothered me a bit. Everything was awesome and I really am not a person that complains a lot, but I've just been wondering, since we're not allowed to take photos of our own during the meet&greet... wouldn't it be somehow nice if they had a professional camera at least? I mean, I am happy I got the chance to meet them (finally!), and I'd pay the amount I did even if I didn't get a photo with it, but since I did, I'd be really happy to have a proper HD photo of it. It's not that this one is bad, but I mean.. my phone would make a better, more quality photo. That's what bothers me.

qadesh: IF I'm not mistaken, during the M&G, there WILL be a professional photographer who will take 1 individual photo of you with the band, this is part of the VIP package... I am rather dissapointed for the limit in time, not signing personal items and not being allowed personal photos/videos with the band as the last concert I was (in London, June 2017) I saw people coming out of their M&G experience with photos/videos they took on their smartphones and spoke highly of the entire procedure and how warm the band was to them....I may be wrong but I don't get this 'vibe' from this tour. Of course, this is an entirely different 'ball game' and I am positive I will enjoy it either way!!! I am just over the moon ecstatic about meeting them (Will & Amy especially) and being front row (again ). Nat. P.S: Anyone knows, approximately, what time the concerts' last for/local UK time it will finish? I worry about missing the last train and want to calculate distance and all... Tnx!!!

They have a “pro photographer,” but they use a crappy ass camera. They don’t check the photos after they are taken. So most images are blurry or band members have their eyes closed, etc. In one M&G, they LOST the files so those poor peeps did not get their photos

Next time around I'm going to ask if they can have the photographer either not use the flash or take an extra just in case or something. I've seen them take multiples for other people so I'm sure it won't be an issue...And for these prices you'd expect a certain degree of professionalism regarding the photos I feel like. I hope I don't come across as too negative. It was still an amazing experience

In Stuttgart, they took 2 photos of everyone. Both of mine turned out pretty good, but I was disappointed by the quality of it. One relatively good camera can't really be out of their budget.
Other than that, I actually quite enjoyed the whole experience and didn't have any issues of any kind. I was also quite happy with the time I got with the band, managed to have a quick chat and all. Lasted for maybe a minute, but I was happy.

Hopefully that's how they do it in the US this summer too.
