That rumor about Colognr has been around for forever, but I'm not sure where I came from or if it has any merit. Thanks! I'm just trying to pinpoint if it's a legit claim or not. I guess that's one thing I guess that can go into EvRumor or EvLore category... What do you say DarkFlare89? Haha, I was just working on this but stopped to do a little 'Hello' updating xD. Cologne being ABH, instead of Paris, is quite an old (and one that I've come across more than once) EvRumor (I don't have enough info on it, and it isn't pervasive enough in the fanbase, to categorize it as EvLore unfortunately). So the story goes that, had Ben not left, Ev would have released this as their ABH likely in early 2004, rather than late 2004 (like our real ABH). They did some really special and creative things on this set that they had not done on any other live set (Ben playing the big drums on Farther Away, BMTL's unique intro, and other things) either before or after this. If this wasn't going to be something special (DVD) then why bother with all of that? This also explains why they had specific live songs of Cologne in HQ that they just added to the various singles once the project was scrapped(MI for MI single, TOM and Whisper for EF single). If memory serves, Imaginary's promo video for Latin America/Spain also had the Imaginary (Fallen) dubbed over the Imaginary (Cologne) performance. There are some problems with this theory though. Are all special DVD programs televised? Because Cologne '03 was televised in Germany, and if it is something they are going to sell as a DVD, why would they have televised it? Unless this is something they just do (does this/did this ever happen on European TV with Nightwish/Within Temptation/Epica? Did this happen with Ev's ABH?). I don't remember how we got the video of the live set in the first place, because neither EID or Whisper were televised (EID was not on Fallen, Whisper was considered the encore and not shown due to time), and yet we have both. Was the Cologne performance posted online? How close to the performance was it posted online? If this was going to be on the DVD, why would it have been viewable online, where it could have been ripped (with our not-so-good 2003 technology and all xD). Maybe this was shown/posted on the internet only after it was agreed to scrap Cologne as ABH? I dunno *shrug* To be honest, I would have really liked Cologne ABH because we would have gotten Even in Death and Zero in HQ, along with unique versions of songs, in exchange for having to give up an HQ version of Thoughtless (which is what we got with ABH). And I think that is a really good trade.

I would have liked Colonge much more than Paris, but Paris was still a good show. I just like that version of BMTL and FA better than the one's on ABH. Though, I do like that haunting "Eeeeeee eeeeee eeeeeee" with the alarm clock piano at the beginning of BMTL in ABH. It just seems like they had more energy in Cologne than they did in Paris. Eh, they should have did a mix-up of live shows or something and just gave Ben his part of the royalties for him being in some of the songs... I think I'm going to do this for myself of "Best Live Performances" lol. I can totally see what you mean, but yeah, I stick with my opinion for that reason But I guess a mix up would have been the best. (I was never feeding the rumor about Cologne vs Paris, I just spoke in if terms, although that might not be very clear, heh.)

Thanks Zero79 and X. I was thinking both of the same things. That 1) I do remember reading somewhere about the Cologne VS Paris shows (and probably another one) for ABH and 2) that the guy just pulled it out of his butt that he asked Amy/John about it. I'm not Zero79, lol.

I can't believe ABH turns 10 this year. I was going to 6th when it was released. I wish there was a new dvd, since it has been 10 years.

I remember when I bought it a few years ago, that I had the hardest time finding it in stores. In the end I had to order it haha.

I remember when I bought it a few years ago, that I had the hardest time finding it in stores. In the end I had to order it haha. I was really lucky when it came to ABH. It was the year I really became an EvFan, but my family wasn't very financially well-off and I didn't have an allowance to spend on CDs, so my music was borrowed from friends and such. I had ten dollars in my pocket one day when I was walking home from school (money from my grandmother that I'd been given to buy myself an ice cream or something) and I stopped in the local secondhand/pawn shop for a browse. I was idly perusing the pre-owned CDs when I stumbled upon Anywhere But Home - I didn't even know ABH existed at that point, I didn't have access to the internet outside of school hours. I was so excited, especially considering it was priced at $6. I took it up to the counter, the guy knocked a buck off the price (because the store is called Save-a-Buck; it's a nice gimmick, okay?) and I watched it in the lounge room that night, sitting really close to the TV with headphones because 1. my mother had friends over and they were playing music in the kitchen and 2. my mum isn't fond of Amy's voice. I even got my sisters to watch through the backstage footage and it was excellent fun.

I get really nostalgic when thinking about ABH. Still remember the day it was released. I was in philosophy class veeeery bored, all I could think about was having it in my hands. After school, I run to buy it from my local record store. I didn't have a DVD player back then, so I begged my parents to get me one and after three weeks I finally watched the DVD. I was ridiculously excited!

Remember so well how my friend and I almost wore the DVD out, first watching the concert and then the extras. *memories* I think I ordered it online around the time when TOD was released.

I got the DVD case version of ABH for Christmas of 2004. I had no idea it was out and it was an amazing surprise. I was so confused because I didn't know it existed and because I had no idea my parents even knew I liked Evanescence so much! I think I even said "What? This isn't real." and my parents said "Yes it is. The guy at the store said it came out earlier this year." and I said "Oh. Okay." lol. I think I also got After Midnight that same Christmas.

John Lecompt recently squashed that Cologne rumor on his twitter. Oh wow, this is my first time seeing this! I've still been believing the rumor all this time haha. I still wish it could've been ABH, but oh well, at least we have it online. I originally came in here because I'm currently watching ABH to finish off my World Ev Day. I have to admit that I haven't watched it in many years. But man, I'm only a few songs in, and I hate the editing even more than I remembered! Good lord, it's almost unwatchable. It's kinda giving me a headache. I will forever despise whoever was in charge of editing. I guess I will just have to appreciate ABH for the music videos and behind the scenes fun. Oh and the pretty menus. I still adore all the menu animations. <3

I don't know why, but that part where they completely trash that room and play baseball with the McDonalds burgers has always bothered me.

I don't know why, but that part where they completely trash that room and play baseball with the McDonalds burgers has always bothered me. I feel you. I hate waste or mindless degradation. I also feel like it's kinda uncharaterestic of Amy (I don't know her though) and maybe was something they were told to do in order to appear more rockstar? I don't know.
