I'll be seeing Ev in Indiana! I've never been to Indiana before so this will be a cute adventure. I don't think anyone else on here is going to this show so if anything I'll just make the thread and revisit it later so I can show y'all my pictures. I finally got around to looking for a hotel for that night, and there are a ton of hotels around the area but hardly any of the nicer ones had any rooms left. Fortunately I found something good but it cost a little more than I preferred. I didn't understand why everything was so booked in between holidays, so I did some Googling, and the Big Ten Championship game is happening that same night. So, if anyone on here wants to go to this show, anticipate heavier traffic and book a hotel ASAP if you need to.

Would be going to this show if I still lived in Indianapolis. Miss it there sometimes.
EDIT: I believe this will be the first time they've performed in Indiana in a decade.

Just to warn you, Indiana is all cornfields unless you're in a city. xD Carmel is nice though, I go through it everytime I go down to KY.

I’m fairly new to this EVthread community, but I’m going to this show and am SOOOOO BEYOND EXCITED!!!!!
I splurged on myself for my 30th bday gift (it’s a week after) and got the tier 1 VIP package. Me and my bestie have front and center seats!! Seriously Can Not WAIT!!! I haven’t seen them since Rock On The Range back in 2007. I was supposed to see them on the Carnival of Madness tour, but I was at the Chicago show that got rained out. Side note to that though, I was in front for that show and Halestorms performance was so incredible that that show is still one of my top concerts I’ve ever been to, even with all the rain and no EV.
And you are correct, they haven’t been to Indiana in a decade. When they announced they were doing this tour, I figured Indy had a good shot since we have multiple orchestras.
I’M SO PUMPED!!

The pictures of the venue are beautiful! I'm in the front row all the way at the right end of the center chunk of seats. I'll be the short geek with a blue/green shiny dress and her parents XD (They've long been converted Evheads lol and hopped on the VIP bandwagon as soon as I told them the details)

I finally got my VIP pictures... SO IT’S FINALLY STORY TIME! Okay so as I’ve mentioned on here before, my parents love Evanescence too. So when I told them about the VIP package and how I really wanted to do it, especially since it would be the day after my birthday, my dad was like “But… I wanna meet Amy, too.” So all three of us went. We drove 4 hours to Indiana (I’m in Ohio) and made it there with little time to spare since there was some heavy traffic. I brought the band snacks as presents: A box of chocolate and Ballreich chips, which are made in the town where I attend college. Thank God we got to see the soundcheck first so I could be a little less starstruck by the time we got to meet the band. (The did Your Star, BMTL, Imperfection, and Weight of the World!) The meet and greet was such a cool experience. I was super nervous and felt like I had tunnel vision. Honestly, I feel like I was awkward. Ever see the movie A Christmas Story? I feel like I acted like when Ralphie meets Santa. LOL. But everyone else said I was really cute and social so I’m sure it’s just me being overcome by my nervousness. Everything I wanted to say to them just kind of flew out of my head – thank God I brought presents to help me guide conversation! And Amy is freaking gorgeous, omg. She was wearing this blue velvet thing over her dress and her eyeshadow and her hair just UGH WHAT A QUEEN. So, then my mom met the band and mentioned that I’m her daughter. And then my dad met the band and told Amy, “Well, you just met my wife and daughter, so now you get me!” And Amy apparently said, “That was your wife and daughter! They are so sweet! Hey, do you want like a family picture?” So then they came and got me and my mother for one with all three of us. I must admit I was absolutely horrified that Evanescence and everybody knew I came with my parents, of all people, but Amy seemed to think it was really cool. And she called me sweet twice, so there’s that. XD Also, one random thing I appreciated about the meet and greet: My mother was in a setting where she had to listen to Bjork and not complain about it. Priceless. I was in the front row for the show – here are some of my pictures. Fantastic view, except I couldn’t see Amy at the piano very well. Since I got such a great view of her at the mic, though, one thing I noticed was how much Amy focuses on her breathing when she’s singing. She’s really been taking care of her voice, and it shows. She puts in so much emotion into every single word she sings. And as far as the Synthesis songs live – they are all better live than in the studio, IMO. It’s just less compressed and more alive. ALSO THE PERCUSSION IS MORE PROMINENT AND I LOVE IT. Especially after Amy sings the first verse of Lacrymosa and the music really starts picking up. I really loved hearing that one, Secret Door, Speak to Me, and Weight of the World – those were definitely some of my favorite moments. <3 I am so surprised I didn’t cry during any of this. I think I may have gotten it all out of my system back in 2012 – I cried through most of the show. XD In a nutshell, this was the most memorable birthday ever!

Oh my God! RapturedLight wow! this is unbelievable. I had no idea you went with your family! it must have been such an amazing experience for all of you. I'm sure Amy and the band enjoyed to see you together very much! Both M&G and concert photos look perfect and from a perfect position! Amy's amyzing job on the vocal and her efforts on singing each single word and note is almost clear in the videos as well but I can't imagine how awesome it'd sound when you're so close to her that you'd hear part of her own voice directly and not through the microphone! when you're standing right before her! I so agree about the percussion and Lacrymosa part too. I can somehow imagine it in my mind. the wave of sound that shakes your heart inside your chest! reading your story felt so good and I appreciate you for sharing it. I'm so happy for you

I'm going to post my story in a minute. I think I saw you too heading into the venue....I was so focused the whole time on just keeping it together I don't know if it would have been a good first introduction . Unfortunately, I didn't see you after the M&G. My nerves were gone then and I was all kinds of talkative. Maybe next time they come around this way

Story time. It’s going to be a long one…. So first off, the venue is Beautiful. I’ve been wanting to go to the Palladium ever since it was built. Perfect first time there. In fact, it was everyone’s first time there at the meet and greet. While we were waiting for sound check a lady from the Palladium asked us all if any of us had been there before and the room was dead silent. My bestie and I found that amusing. Not that kind of crowd lady. Sound check was amazing. Just so surreal. As I’m sitting there, my mind just keeps going “This is real! I’m not watching a video, this is Real!” I so agree with you RapturedLight, I’m grateful there’s sound check first. I do think it helps calm the nerves Ever so slightly. I thought Amy’s little “Welcome to the office, guys” was adorable. And her and Jen’s little back and forth I found amusing as well: Amy: play that part like this, not this Jen: that’s the exact same sound Amy: no it’s not Jen: yes it is *plays* Amy: no, that’s different It was just so cool to get a legit, in your face peek at the work side of the band. Then the meet and greet….dun dun duuun. We go upstairs to this beautiful balcony like area where our champagne is waiting for us. And then the band walks in. And my mind all over again goes to “This is Real. They are just mere Feet away from me. This is Real.” Amy commented on how beautiful the room was and the pretty Christmas tree. And then thanked us for being a part of it all and we toasted. While we’re waiting in line to meet them, my nerves start to get the best of me. The bestie snapped pics of me with my face getting all red (cause she’s rude like that lol) and I had to start wiping my hands on my pants cause they were sweating. Hot mess here. But I feel like I kept it together once I handed off my stuff to Beth. (And can I just say I was stoked to meet her and Richie too). I shook everyone’s hand: said hi to Tim J, told Jen I was so glad she’s in the band, shook Amy’s, Will’s and Troy’s hands. Then went back to Amy. Oh dear goodness, just Standing in front of her was INCREDIBLE. Got to tell her Thank You for Everything. That Evanescence has been my therapy music for the past decade (somehow didn’t cry while doing this. Honestly don’t know how I didn’t) and that I just appreciate her so much. I then showed her my tattoo. She takes my arm and rubs my tat with her thumb and goes “Awww”. GUYS, SHE RUBBED MY TAT AND WENT AWW!! She looks at it and goes “that’s not new, is it?” Me: “No, I’ve had it for years and I am So Glad it made it on to Synthesis!” Amy: “Aw thank you, me too! I feel like that one really gets over looked and it’s such a beautiful one, it’s one of my favorites.” Me: “me too! Obviously *jesters to my arm*. Real quick, do I have time to give these two guys a compliment? *pointing to Will and Troy*” Amy: “Of course!” Me: “so my first Evanescence show was in 2007 at Rock on the Range…” Troy: “That was our first show!” Me: “Yes!! And you were Amazing!” They both say thanks and Will goes “Aw man, that’s crazy. I was so nervous! We only had like one practice before that night.” Amy: “It was nuts! And I had just gotten married.” Me: “Right? All the things. But the show was amazing. You know how you can sense that excitement in a crowd after a great show? It was there.” Amy: *nods and smiles real big* “Oh yeah. That’s awesome, thank you.” Asked her if it was weird if I asked for a hug and she was like it’s totally cool. Took our pic and then it was the bestie’s turn. She shook everyone’s hands and then told Amy that she was here to meet her bestie’s icon for her birthday. To which the whole band then told me happy birthday. On the way out, Richie offers me some chips ( RapturedLight, now I know where that bag came from lol), so of course I accept. I never turn down free food. So I have a crazy, it’s a small world story that happened in “the in between” the VIP and the show itself. So after the m&g, we were lead downstairs to where the restrooms were. While I was waiting on Aly (the bestie), I saw a white board that had the nights itinerary on it. The ushers were getting ready to have a little meeting about how the night was planned. On the white board was a list of times when things were starting. There was VIP, then the show, followed by an after party. Hmmm. Meanwhile, I made a friend with another person from the VIP at said whiteboard. Hey if you’re on here! So the three of us go outside and get some warm drinks. There was an adorable Christmas festivity going on right beside the theatre. Ice skating and all. Perfect. So we’re standing outside and there’s this guy and his son who are dressed in matching dress jackets and shirt. Just adorable. So I tell him that as they walk by (cause at this point, I just got to talk to the band, am drinking a delicious chia tea latte and am completely on Cloud Nine *pun intended*. I’m not typically this social with strangers). Fast forward to later in the night, but still before the show. We’re standing inside the main entrance way and that same father/son come walking by. This time he comes over to me and goes “You look familiar.” I told him he did too (he really did) so we spend a good while trying to figure out where we’ve seen each other. We did find out that we were both at the same Halloween festival this year. But he was Ted and I didn’t see a Ted, so it wasn’t that. We kept trying to figure out how we’ve seen each other but never did. Eventually he asks if we got to meet the band and told him yeah. He said that’s cool and then said that he’s getting to go to the after party. Asked him how does one get into said party. He said he was a friend of one of the band members. Turns out he grew up with Jen, has known her since she was little and are still good friends. He even showed us pictures of him and Jen hanging out the night before. It was crazy. Small, small world…

The show was INCREDIBLE! Like what everyone else has said, the live experience is just beyond words. We were front and center and I couldn’t help but smile the whole time and just be in awe. I’m so glad my bestie went with me. She’s not really a big EV fan, she doesn’t dislike them but she’s not an EVhead. But having her there I think totally helped calm my nerves. And also just completed all the serendipity that was that night. Could not think of a better way to close out my twenties than to spend it with someone who has been there for me through All the good and All the ugly. And on top of all of that, get to meet the band that has also been there for all the good and ugly…..Just an absolutely perfect night. I love that this moment got captured. They were laughing because they were like "are we really going to moon the people behind us?" "Yep we're doing this" And then they turned around and mooned us too
