I know! Heh, I remember reading that interview as well, but when I couldn't find it again I assumed I must have made it up.

Maybe it was deleted or the site went down or something. I don't know. This isn't the first time I've tried to find it again, but if we both read it then it was definitely real. Lol.

Forgive me because I honestly don't know, as I don't have a copy of the liner notes (and also forgive me if this is in the wrong section ), but how much of a role did David Hodges have in creating "Fallen", besides his "yeah yeah"s on "My Immortal" and being credited with helping write the songs? The "'Fallen' and David Hodges" thread merged into the "'Fallen' Album Discussion" thread on 2/2/2013 by Double A.

Well, i did some research through my Ev box. On Fallen, European release [cat. no 510879 9 - (c)2004] and also on the first Taiwanese Fallen [cat. no. 510879.2.] there is David's name contained in following notes: page 3 Vocals: Amy Lee - Guitars: Ben Moody - Piano / Keyboards: David Hodges - ... Additional Programming: Zac Baird, Chris Johnson, David Hodges page 6All Strings Arranged by David Campbell and David Hodges except Track 4 String Arrangement by Graeme Revell page 8Tracks 1, 2, 3, 5, 9, 10 written by B. Moody / A. Lee / D. Hodges ... - Track 6 written by B. Moody / A. Lee / D. Hodges / R. Gray ... - Track 8 written by B. Moody / A. Lee / D. Hodges / J. LeCompt ... He is mentioned on following Evanescence singles including the track "Farther Away". But the main thing, I believe, is listed on the Fallen album. Also check the "Making Of Fallen" videos.

I'd believe, maybe simplified, you could say he did the arrangements, mainly string arrangements, for most of the songs, except My Immortal, I think. And also helped in the composition in some of them.

Seems like David's taken up quite some royalties for his work on Fallen. I must say, he's been very lucky about it, espeially since he didn't even stay in the band until they made their breakthrough.

I'm pretty sure that David was the keyboardist when he was in the band, so I think he recorded all the piano for the record. It's possible that he had a big hand in the Origin/fallen version of My Immortal as well.

On Fallen, David arranged the strings with David Campbell (except for track 4 My Immortal). He was also the keyboardist/piano player. He also had a hand in writing all the songs except the three from 1998 and 1999 (My Immortal, Imaginary, and Whisper).

I'm wondering why they added John and Rocky to the album artwork. If I were Amy, I wouldn't want that since they were just touring members back then. But yeah, it's Wind-Up we're talking about here.

I think even though Rocky and John were just hired musicians -supposedly-, they did make very small contributions to the album and it is infinitely better in the world of 'bands' to present yourself as a legitimate band than a singer and a guitarist with some hired help. Could they have marketed Evanescence as a songwriting duo that just hires their touring band? Yes, but the label wanted female fronted Linkin Park.

I think that they were just hired for the Fallen tour and then actually joined the band after they were hired, which is probably why they were in the Promo shoots. Will, Amy and Ben were all friends in their teens but Will never joined the band for some odd reason. I'm not sure how they knew John and Rocky. But it would make sense that they joined shortly after they were "hired" because they were there for the recording for The Open Door.

Meh, they even wanted a rapper in the band. *slaps Wind-up* Yep, Amy has said before that John and Rocky joined Evanescence after Fallen was written and recorded as touring members, and they became permanent members soon after Ben left the band.
