It's amazing how her voice sounds so powerful with all the instruments, but if you take the same vocals and just add piano they sound so delicate. I don't know how to embed the video in the post. Fixed - Double AWOW!!!!

Whenever I listen to any version of Imaginary that is not the Origin version, I secretly hope that in the second chorus she will start singing "If you need to leave the world you leave in...", but she doesn't. Even if I obviously know that I won't hear it, I kinda still hope anyways. It's kinda crazy. I would have loved if they didn't scrap that part of the lyrics. And I love this version! Especially her vocals and synths at the beginning.

I would love if they did a "new and improved" version of Imaginary with the alternate lyrics. Sadly, I doubt it will ever be. Same goes for MI.

I was never a big fan of Imaginary (yeah, you can hate me now), but the Synthesis version is amazing! It doesn't top the EP version, but still it sounds almost new to my ears. So nice and fresh.

Ev EP version will always be my favorite. I wish they put in the extra "If you need to leave the world you live in" verse in this remake. It would sound soooo good.

When the brass section comes in I imagine in my head that Amy has been dreaming of playing with an orchestra since she was a little girl and now it finally came true.

Amy did mention wanting to be a composer when she was younger. In another life she could've easily been this generation's Mozart

@frozenlithium I completely agree with you. I've had this conversation with people before. "Why do you like Amy Lee so much? She's an alright singer I guess, but there are other great singers out there, some of them with more talent" My answer is always "listen to the music". I guess a lot of it is that it's normal - especially in Europe where it's pretty commonplace for women to be the face and frontperson of a band - for women to be the hired pretty face who can sing well, but isn't heavily involved with the creation of the music so much.
If you look at what she's been creatively involved in, she's up there with the best of them. She was creating breathtaking choral works and string movements as a young teenager. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if, when people are looking back at the great musicians of the turn of the millenium, her name will be up there with the likes of The Beatles. She's just such an 'out of the box' thinker that I feel like the best is still to come. Almost anybody else from the same generation, you can kind of go, "okay, this is their sound and they've done something pretty amazing with it" but you're not surprised or forced out of your comfort zone when they produce something new. As a fan, Amy is actually terrifying to follow because you have absolutely no idea what she's going to do next. It could be something groundbreaking or something awful (thankfully I feel like she's yet to have done the latter - which is incredible in itself), but the the fact is that she isn't afraid to take these risks for the sake of doing something artistically fulfilling. That is such a consistent feature in the really great, influential composers of the past. They've all had a story and they've always been eccentric in one way or another.

I love everything about this. The best: the bold.
