Here we can discuss the Synthesis reworking of Imaginary. This song is special for a lot of reasons. One of our oldest compositions, it's part of the exploration that shaped the core sound of Evanescence. It has never once left the live setlist.I linger in the doorway of alarm clock screaming monsters calling my name Let me stay where the wind will whisper to me Where the raindrops as they’re falling tell a story In my field of paper flowers And candy clouds of lullaby I lie inside myself for hours and watch my purple sky fly over me Don’t say I’m out of touch with this rampant chaos, you’re reality I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge The nightmare I built my own world to escape In my field of paper flowers And candy clouds of lullaby I lie inside myself for hours and watch my purple sky fly over me Swallowed up in the sound of my screaming Cannot cease for the fear of silent nights Oh how I long for the deep sleep dreaming The goddess of imaginary light In my field of paper flowers And candy clouds of lullaby I lie inside myself for hours and watch my purple sky fly over me Out of respect for those who are waiting for their show or for the album release to wait to hear the songs, I'm advising and please asking, if you're posting anything that will give away any great details to the song, please use spoiler tags. Thank you!

The previous versions never really did anything to me, especially the Fallen version (it's a bit dry and uninspired for me even though there are some epic moments). However, (judging by the live version) I'm really digging the Synthesis version I think it suits the song a lot more.

Imaginary is one of my other least favorite songs and I LOVE this version. Definetly reminds me of Pre-Fallen material.
Love the way she sings "escape". You can definitely dance to this. I do miss the piano at the "Goddess of Imaginary Light" part but the harp there is nice.
The big booming instrumental where the guitar solo usually is, is amazing.

So funky, I was not expecting that. I also hear a little bit of an Origin vibe no? Also I love how it fades in from the previous song like it did on Fallen. Pretty pretty pretty.
I'm loving this album so far.

Really love how Unraveling leads to Imaginary, those two should always be played together.
The very first word 'I' in 'I linger in the doorway' startled me the first time I heard this because it doesn't sound like Amy at all.
The second verse I just love love love so much. I love how Amy sings 'your reality'.
The bit at 1:00 reminds me of Surrender.
The chorus after the bridge is amazing. I also love Amy's voice at 3:48-3:53.

I felt the same way at the beginning of the song. I actually got mad because it sounded like they auto-tuned Amy's vocals.

Imaginary has always been my most favourite song, so I was really curious about how this version is going to sound. Well, like others already have mentioned, there is something very wierd about the first verse, something wierd about Amy's voice. It sounds so 'sharp' somehow and definitely not familiar, to be honest: I don't like the vocals in the first verse. :/
But I DO like the music, the arrangement of the song and the instrumental after 'imaginary light' (although I somehow miss the choir or the "aaah" like in the EP / Origin version).
I guess it is always a bit difficult to top one's most favourite song... ^^

Every version of Imaginary is a good one, imo, because it's just such a fabulous song. But the Fallen version is still my favorite. <3

This version most resembles the second demo version. To me at least.

But that does not mean that I don't like the Demos or the Fallen version, no, I love them all. And the Synthesis version as well (except for the vocals in the first verse...)! Oh, just asking... I heard somewhere that the "Mystary" version sounds different than the one on Fallen. I never heard it I guess, so if anyone has a link or something to that version, I would appreciate getting it.

It's amazing how her voice sounds so powerful with all the instruments, but if you take the same vocals and just add piano they sound so delicate.
I don't know how to embed the video in the post. Fixed - Double A
