God I can completely relate to what he's saying about mixing so many instruments. I usually end up spending hours-days just trying to get 15-20 tracks to a level where everything's audible/panned how I like it. Getting this spot on for an entire orchestra, plus synth, drum tracks and multiple vocal tracks (and with a tight deadline) is just mindblowing. I bet there were a few all-nighters pulled to get this record out. Also, random, but does anybody know where Damian is from originally? It's a regional accent I haven't heard before. I initially thought he was originally from England or maybe Australia, but that his accent had been coloured whilst living in LA, but the way he says certain words doesn't really fit this. Unless it's actually an LA accent and I just haven't heard a strong example before, haha. |
