For me she did in a few ways actually.
Body - I've always had body issues (I had bulimia and anorexia for a big part of my life and I still struggle everyday) but everytime I see her is like I remember you don't have to be crazy thin to be extremely beautiful. Her songs help me when I need to express myself. Meaning acting, singing or writing. Because of her I started to learn how to play piano and I learned english lol

Great thread idea! (: I could go on and on about different ways Amy's inspired me and sound like a massive fangirl But I think the biggest areas where she's inspired me are mostly in just being myself and doing my own thing, whether that be musically or in life in general. I've always been pretty stubborn and hated doing things by the book and if anything, seeing her doing just that to some degree has inspired me (whether it be a good thing or not is open to debate) to just roll with it and take the criticism on the chin. I think because of this, I've always found the fans who aspire to be like her to the point of replicating her fashion/tastes a little bit hypocritical, because to me she's always been a symbol of individualism and self expression. If my tastes, views, influences and aesthetics are different to hers, it's because we're different people and, ironically enough, her being her has inspired me to be more like me and less like her. It's difficult to explain, but I think the gist of it is just in allowing myself to be different and embracing my imperfections - these traits owe a lot to Amy.

Amy and Evanescence have inspired me musically a great deal. Everything from my understanding and appreciation of vocal harmonies, to giving me the confidence to face some incredibly personal stuff lyrically. I've also spent a lot more time investigating string arrangements and stuff like that. But I still think my favourite thing to do musically is to record and explore backing vocals and harmonisation. That's definitely come from falling in love with the way Amy uses her voice on every recording. The more backing vocals the better! For anyone interested, here's a link to my most Evanescence-inspired tune, Safe From Harm: soundcloud.com/david-limmer/safe-from-harm

The band definitely has. The Open Door is my favorite album, and I'm currently going through the piano book after not touching it for a few years. I can do Lose Control and am working on The Only One and Snow White Queen right now.

Amy is the reason I took up piano. "My Immortal" is the first song I learned and I went from there. 5 years later and I'd say I'm pretty good at piano. Have a couple original pieces and can play just about anything given to me...all thanks to Amy

Evanescence and Amy Lee inspired me in so many ways! They teached me to stand up for myself. They were the first band i fell in love with. Amy showed me my interest in music and in classic composition. The beautiful gothic style and the victorian era. They showed me the truth and interest in life after death. They've giving me so much inspiration for designing new things everyday! I am a student in graphic design and i've chosen Evanescence as my graduation project in graphic design. Couldn't be more proud and happy!
