I'm gutted, the tickets had sold out within 20 minutes of going on sale. Anyone hoping that they'll suddenly announce doing Download? They're apparently being sold in batches so keep checking.

Does anyone know if they sign outside their tour bus?
Like, I'm genuinely considering doing that haha

I bought two, but one of them is seated, you can have that one if you have a paypal! ^ Maybe you could offer it to Rarkphoenix who posted above since he's working right now and might not be able to get a ticket. That's really kind though. I read that axs were selling VIP yesterday. And I know that o2 did VIP also because i know of someone who got one. Thanks for thinking of me! (: Actually managed to steal a smartphone from work and got tickets that way in the end I thought they were going to sell out quickly (especially since the VIPs had gone before the rest of us had a chance to get them), but I was amazed how quickly they did go. I think most people did the same as I did and were literally sat on their phones/computers at ten to nine whether at work or not sat in that bloody virtual waiting room on AXS I also really hope they play Download, partly because I missed them last time they played there, and partly because I bet there were loads of people who missed out on tickets who really wanted to go. The Apollo is a tiny venue considering how popular they are and considering it's the only date listed in the UK. I bet there were loads of people on O2 etc. who saw the advert come up and thought "I remember that Evanescence band!" and booked the tickets there and then. It's a great thing for getting people back into their music who may not have been big fans before, but for those who have maybe never had the chance to see them live, who desperately want to, and have lost the chance through a combination of early ticket leakings and people buying loads in batch to sell on, it's pretty damn upsetting, and knowing I was pretty close to being in that situation myself makes me feel even worse for these fans. It's by no means the band's fault, and I can actually see why they chose to play the Apollo (it's where they started the 2011 European tour) and play (possibly) only one show in the UK (they're only doing 1-2 in each European country, it would be unfair to favour one over the others and doing tons in each country is exhausting and monotonous, especially when they don't even have a new album to promote), but I certainly think, thanks to all the drama that's come about as a result of this, it's only fair that people who missed out get another chance and there is an interesting Ev-shaped hole forming in the Download lineup (probably wishful thinking). On a more positive note. It DID sell out in less than 20 minutes. That's crazy fast, and shows they're still popular over here. Even if they don't play another show whilst they're over here, they know they're pretty much guaranteed to sell out arenas if they do return which is a big draw for them in the future.

^I'm so happy for you Rark, I was worried a bit! I just laugh whenever someone says Ev is not popular anymore and they've lost their fans over time. Ev's fanbase is still unbelievably HUGE! I really hope the perform more than one shows in countries like UK, Germany, Italy, France and some of those south Americans.

I think because they don't get a huge amount of radio airplay and media attention and they don't headline or co-headline the biggest festivals anymore, it's pretty easy to think they're no longer that popular. What I think is happening is that Evanescence's popularity is actually spreading geographically. They've always had some popularity in North America, South America and Europe, and had a few fans (like yourself) in Asia and Africa, but more and more I'm hearing about fans and fangroups in different places around the world (some of which have almost certainly been around since Fallen, but I'd just never heard about until recently). With the internet, more and more people are able to discover their music, who may not have had the chance previously, and their last world tour got to quite a few countries they'd never visited before. I like to think there's a penguin fangroup in Antarctica, too My hope from a fan's perspective is that they do a few shows in Europe and South America this year (spread out so they get time to spend on other projects/spend time with family). Then maybe a few shows in Japan, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, India and North Africa next year (it would also be great if the political situation in the Middle East could calm down a bit so those fans get a chance (I know there's a fan group in Iraq, for example) and then maybe the following year back to the US and Canada? I definitely think a spread out 3 year thing makes more sense than an intensive tour now they're off the label. That way it's more of a holiday than work, but they'd still be making some money from it. Definitely not massively distracted BACK ON TOPIC. What time are people getting down there? Wouldn't mind being at the front with some of my fellow Evthreaders, tis all (:

^Exactly, the music is so deep and honest, the atmosphere is so strong and unforgettable, and the lyrics are so well written that makes it impossible to forget even without media's attention. the imprint is always there! a big part of Ev's audiences are either blind haters and douchebags, or die hard fans for life. so I wasn't surprised at all when I heard all the tickets for such venue sold out in just under 20 minutes!

I might get to the queue late afternoon, I've done enough gigs that I cba with getting there too early anymore. When I saw Ev at Hammersmith Apollo in 2011 (sold out) there was a lot of pushing people trying to get to the front which got really horribly squashed. I was maybe 5 rows back from the front? And I queued from 2pm then. Would be cool to meet and chat with some ETers so if you and anyone else wants to make a plan I'll see if I can fit to it. I'll be going with a few other people as well.

Yeah, I found that the Hammersmith gigs, too. I didn't understand the mentality. They'd push past you rudely, and then just be stood there in front of you blocking your view. Fair enough I can kind of understand it if you're really desperate to get a good view because you've been waiting your entire life to see them (still incredibly rude and unfair on the other fans who are patiently waiting), but once these people were in front of me, they didn't even seem that bothered, they were just stood there looking bored the whole show. Granted, this is coming from a metalhead who's used to people going absolutely nuts (crowd-surfing/moshing/headbanging right from the first note), but if you're going to just stand there in the way and be boring, do it behind me, don't push past me, and certainly don't give me dirty looks when I'm getting into the music and having a good time.

Managed to get a ticket in the end, but not at face value. Worth it though. The websites crashed at 09:00:00 and at 09:00:50 they had completely sold out. The ticket sales for this event weren't exactly conducted fairly, but oh well - I work casually at a venue and I've seen much worse. Does anyone know who the tour manager (or agency) is? I'd be very interested in trying to get my team (I work in media) an interview, but I always find these kinds of interviews ridiculously hard to set up. the imprint is always there! ayy

A couple of videos from the second Apollo date. I didn't record much as I was too into it and I wasn't really in a decent spot for video recordings (prefer to take photos/videos if I'm in the stands/seated), but I feel like these get the atmosphere of the night across pretty well... Intro into the start of Everybody's Fool (camera couldn't withstand the screaming, sorry about the distortion ) The Change [Acoustic] (apologies for my god awful singing)

What a night that was! I got right down to the front, got a grin from Troy and sang the words to every song (despite crying my way through Breath No More and My Heart Is Broken.) If anyone saw a woman wearing a red dress and clutching a grey stuffed toy cat that was me. 😀
