^ As mentioned in the thread earlier, Amy said that ideas are in the works in that interview there. It may be another year or so before we get anything Evanescence related, but we do have more than some intangible guesses as to whether it's a possibility at all or not. I always knew that the shift back to Evanescence would be a gradual one. What with the Wind-Up lawsuit in 2013(?)-2014, Amy giving birth to Jack in 2014, Terry's leaving followed by Jen's arrival in the band in 2015, etc, etc, etc, a ton of stuff has been happening the past few years or so. And none of the members certainly have been idle. I haven't kept a close eye on anyone besides Amy, but Will is in a few other bands, Tim has worked on things, and Jen has had interviews and modeling as far as I understand. Most importantly, this break has given us things that no other hiatus has before: a completely different side of Amy that she has willingly shared with us. Not just one side, but many. Amy has been allowed to grow the way any artist should. I'm sure that confinement to being nothing more than a one-trick pony was suffocating her (one of the many reasons why I'm annoyed those Fallen Forever type fans only pop up to rattle off about Ben or Bring Me to Life like they're still relevant or the only things that matter). I've touched on that topic before.
I remember when I met Amy, I wasn't spoken to like I was just some fan. I was treated like a person who had worthy things to offer, like I was actually worth her five or so minutes of time. That doesn't get forgotten easily. It's fans like me, like you guys, that make her even want to share these things with us. I saw someone had said the vinyl boxset was a way for the band to make money since they aren't doing much right now, but I don't think it's about that. I think this is a heartfelt gift, basically a giant thank you to our dedication. Amy said she spent months working on it, and something that's scrambled together for a cash grab wouldn't take even half that amount of time. No, this is something incredibly unique and special. We probably won't ever see something like this again. On Twitter, I had mentioned that I wish everyone could have access to this wonderful item, and these are the reasons why.
Wow I kind of rambled lol. But seriously...this boxset is so much more than another pretty collection item. It's a message and a symbol, all in one.
Or I could be wrong and this was done for the hell of it.

This vinyl is definitely not the end of Evanescence, it's been confirmed that the band are and have been working on new material, there's no set time or date on when it will be released, but I wouldn't be surprised if we hear something new on tour.

I'm also disappointed that it's vinyl only. Hopefully they will release the new stuff as a digital download too. I bet it's very pretty to look at though, so I'm happy for you guys. Go get it!  Btw, am I the only one who has this "final" vibe about this box? Just the way it says "the ultimate collection" and the way Amy went all out on this one, as if this is the last Ev product to come. But maybe it's just marketing or music business language. You're not. A lot of fans on Facebook are feeling the same way you are. But Amy dropped the ball that Ev has some ideas. SourceOh gosh! I would LOVE MOS electronic version on there, I wonder how it sounds like. And still hoping they put Perfect Dream or Your Love there too hahah  /aliceAmy said the Renholder Remix for Underworld Awakening soundtrack is very similar to the electronic version.  I wonder if the Origin pressing will have the hidden track  Lol, We'd have to play the record backwards! XD  |

I totally agree!! I've been saying for months they might drop a new track during this tour...I mean it's a big tour (their biggest one in 4 years). I am surprised fans are still moaning about not getting new music. Dude, we are getting a vinyl boxset, tour dates, and Amy confirmed new music is in the works. Just gotta be patient guys! We should be used to this hiatus thing by now.  |

^ basically a giant thank you to our dedication. Hit the nail on the head. The idea of a boxset is a financially shrewd idea since they've been around for a while, but a boxset with all of the artwork, notes etc. etc. really isn't. It'll be costing them a fortune and they won't get a massive amount back for it. That, and as Amy said in her Facebook message. She doesn't even like Origin! Its primary intention is obviously a nod in the direction of fans who've stuck by the band for so long (and also of course a fun little project for the band themselves). |

Haha, sorry, I didn't want to be "OMG! EVANESCENCE IS DEAAD!!11!" at all. I think to the point of my post no one has mentioned this kind of thoughts in the thread and I don't read the facebook and twitter stuff - so I just wanted to talk about it. Until this point I saw Jen joining the band as official member as proof, that there'll have to be some kind of new music.
But YAAAY thank you for telling me, that there's definitely new Ev stuff coming! You guys made my day!

This is going to be a random thing to say lol... but everything else has been touched on in this thread, we know what all the official covers look like... I wonder what the Lost Whispers cover will look like? Maybe something new!? I hope it isnt just an ev "stock" image haha! Back to the whole package tho, usually artists release a greatest hits, but Evs like fuck that, lets do an entire career spanning deal! I'm so down!
