I just had a thought. The bootlegs are the only sources for this song's name, right? If so, then we don't know the title of this song for sure, because we know the bootlegs have been wrong before. I'm not sure, maybe DarkFlare89 can bring more light to this, but when the demos were leaked, they were leaked with titles. Which is one of the reasons why some call the demos of Tourniquet, My Tourniquet. So if this is correct, then that is where we found the title to this song. Though it may not have been named and the person who leaked the material named it with a name they felt fitting. Said leaker also most likely named AOTS and Demise, as they sound like their style of title. I agree with DoubleA - the songs were leaked (as far as I know) with the titles. The only one that MAY not have been the case, is Bleed - which probably was incorrectly leaked with either no title (hence it being labeled "Untitled" on the NFYE Bootleg - and people guessed it was I Must Be Dreaming by the lyrics) or it actually was labeled as I Must Be Dreaming. I don't know about that one for sure. For the case of Surrender, I do know for sure that (as I posted about in the 2001 - 2002 Demo Topic), by the time Feb. 4th of 2003 (at the latest) rolled around (i.e. before NFYE Bootleg came out), we already knew of Surrender's name and the song had been leaked (source via Wayback Machine Feb 2003 entry at Exodus Website's Discography). So I think it is pretty safe to say that Surrender, Anything For You, and Before the Dawn (especially Before The Dawn, we have David's quote for that one; AFY was leaked after Fallen came out - at least according to Exodus Discography; it was added to the list after Fallen came out) are the correct names for the non-Fallen, non-Origin 2001-2002 Demos. Bleed, once someone actually finds the interview where Ben clears that up, would be added to the list as well. I also agree with Demise, that was never a name that Evanescence chose. Brad chose that one to be the "yang" to Origin's "yin," or whatever. I think I talked about that in that song topic. I tend not to question AOTS - doing so only brings up the idea of how we know of ANY of the song titles if SA/W EP never came with a track listing. I mean, I think we can accept Whisper and Understanding, but why exactly do we think the GUM (Instrumental) is named that, especially since it sounds nothing like GUM. I could understand Forgive Me, perhaps, but it isn't like titles via lyrics are always the case (i.e. "Wake Me Up Inside" anyone?  ) |

I tend not to question AOTS - doing so only brings up the idea of how we know of ANY of the song titles if SA/W EP never came with a track listing. I mean, I think we can accept Whisper and Understanding, but why exactly do we think the GUM (Instrumental) is named that, especially since it sounds nothing like GUM. I could understand Forgive Me, perhaps, but it isn't like titles via lyrics are always the case (i.e. "Wake Me Up Inside" anyone? :P) The Sound Asleep tracklisting was listed on BigWig's website. By the way, I would like if you could expand on what is this 'Exodus Website'. Never mind, I found the Exodus Website on my own. |

And my source about the Origin Information said that they think that Brad may have named AOTS because it sounds like his style. AOTS was/is a hidden track hence all the silence. |

Am I The Only One(bad pun) who can't hear the breathing in this song after "Hands up slowly, Give into.."? Turn up your volume. It's all the way up now, is it during the line or during the music right before the silence? Because I still can't pick it up.. |

It's all the way up now, is it during the line or during the music right before the silence? Because I still can't pick it up.. It is during the silence. I'm listening to the song right now and I hear the breathing very clearly with the volume turned up. Is it possible you just have bad speakers? Probably. I don't even have earplugs/headphones in right now, and i'm on a laptop, so that's probably why. |

Its in the silence before the music kicks in. It happens very quickly. You have to jack the volume up real high. It sounds like one quick breath. Probably she had taken a quick breath before singing the next part. Pretty sure it wasn't meant to be heard.

Of course the breathing is meant to be heard, otherwise it wouldn't be so emphasized. Also, it's a couple of breaths, not just a quick one.
