Challenge accepted. October is a really special song to me and I'm curious if I can learn more about it listening to it everyday.

This is one of the very few Evanescence songs I really don't like.

I like the lyrics, but the instrumentation could be better.

They were still beginners when they made it and didn't have fancy equipment to make it sound like they sound now. It's understandable. It's not one of my favorites either, but it is special to me for personal reasons and I actually kinda like the raw sound. It's more... I don't know how to call it... Pure?

Some Things To Think About/Debate Over

-People who don't know any better call this song "Can't Run Anymore."

-October is one of the eight songs NOT listed on the BMI Website under Evanescence.

-According to EvReference: Amy Lee, Ben Moody, and Will Boyd are credited with writing the song. The question remains how we exactly, as the EvCommunity, know this since, um, October wasn't on the EP. So . . . EvLore?

-This, along with Me in You, is one of the most "religious-like" of all the Evanescence songs, due to its lyrical content about "grace" and so forth. Of course, the song could easily be about family or love or something, but you know how these things are heh.

-The coveted spot for the "fifth song of Evanescence" would either be this song, or Exodus, since EvLore seems to think that both songs pre-date the EP (and thus pre-date Imaginary).

Just listening to old Ev and I always forget how much I love this song. I know it's a very rough recording and there's no professional production or mixing of the song, but it's so lovely once you get past that. I can almost here the way it would sound if Amy and Jen got on stage, just the two of them, and did this song.

Did someone notice male backing vocals in the chorus? Apparently we hear Amy's backing vocals but I think I hear male ones as well. If this song is written also by Will Boyd could this mean he could make some vocals?
