Just listened to the cover today...and I was simply astounded by Amy's vocals here. I don't think I can properly describe how much I loved listening to it.

Hehe, just like Imaginary, this song has the lyrics "purple sky" in it.
Yeah, on a more serious note - as beautiful as it is, I'm not sure I'll listen to it as much. But it does make me want to listen to more of Johnny Cash's songs. The only song I really like is God's Gonna Cut You Down.

To be honest, I'm not going to listen to this song very much either. It's just not my type. I liked the African song at the end of the concert more than this one. My all time favorite Johnny Cash song is Hurt but only because of the lyrics that meant something at certain point of my life. Amy is a great artist but even she can't make me love a music genre I don't listen to at all.

While the notes are spot on, the feel is mediocre at best. It sounds like the manager coaxed her into doing the gig to see if she could snag a crossover audience. The heart isn't really there and the emotion isn't very authentic. I guess I feel this way because when she sang with the whole group later on, she didn't even seem like she knew most of the lyrics. Cash is one of my (and a whole slew of people's) heroes and there is a certain reverence one needs to have in approaching/covering his songs. Just my opinion. In any case I love Amy's covers everywhere else ...
