According to Dave Eager's official Twitter/ FB pages, Aftermath just pre-nominated for Grammy Awards in 9 categories : Best Rock Performance (Lockdown) Best Rock Song (Lockdown) Best Rock Album Best Alternative Album Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media (Album) Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media (Album) Best Song Written For Visual Media (Lockdown) Best Instrumental Composition (After) Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals (Can’t Stop What’s Coming)

This is so awesome but I am very confused as to why After is nominated. Voice in my Head or Between Worlds are so much better
I am SO rooting for Can't Stop What's Coming. Best vocals EVER

That's great, though chances of them getting an actual nomination is slim. Unfortunately War Story and Aftermath are not big enough to make a noise within NARAS though...but we'll see, the Grammys' tend to pull an upset... Does anyone know when we find out the final cut of nominees? First/Second week of December

Well, WE are all hoping that Amy will win some of her pre-nominated works because her (or Ev's) last Grammy award was received 10 years ago and last Grammy nomination was received 6 years ago. Though the only different thing is, it was Amy and Dave got nominated, not Ev, of course.

I'm glad that the decision isn't based solely on sales alone.. i was actually surprised ev3 was nominated, but i think they missed the cut off ya?

Honestly, I don't really view Aftermath as a rock album, or Lockdown as a rock song.
I think After deserves that Grammy-it's so beautiful (I know Amy didn't touch that song, but it's still beautiful)

I think you meant "wasn't" cause as far as I know Ev3 wasn't nominated (but I'm not sure about whether if it was submitted in the first place or not). The cut off date was Sep 30 for 2012 but it was eligible for the 2013 Grammy. WYW came out in August 2011 so it was eligible for the 2012 Grammy. Of course since the album was released at the beginning of the eligibility period and had zero hits to keep it at the tip of the industry's tongue, the album went unnoticed. While popularity isn't the main deciding factor, it does play a part too. Then there are the Grammy favorites, they'll nominated them no matter what...
