I'm very happy about the reactions to the album all over the world! It's indie but overwhelming. I love how these tracks are melted into each other, and how compact is it as a whole. I just bought the iTunes version too because i wanted the 4pg digital booklet which was NOT included in any of the other sources (Google Play, Amazon). At the moment i'm extremely attached to Can't Stop What's Coming. I wish i would be the one who won the lyrics sheet. Anyway, it's maybe because i'm weird dark person or that i always listen to very wide range of music, but i don't think this album is "depressive". It has very interesting, deep and maybe even "spiritual" [idk?] feeling, yes. The War Story movie itself contained it and as i saw the reactions on the internets, there are people who never experienced any these feels and they lack the interpretation / thinks it's "empty" somehow. I don't know. I hate when people labeled Evanescence music "depressive" cause it's not. But Aftermath is different, it's extremely introspective and sensual, and maybe even "dark" as Amy said herself. I think the only correct answer is Amy's quote about her music: " It lets me turn something bad into something beautiful."
And that's what i feel from the Aftermath - and why i'm attached to her. The lyrics she shared online is just the poem that inspired the song. So, I guess we don't really know if the words Malika sings are the exact translation in Arabic. Or probably [?] not the exact translation, but bits and pieces she mixed together later.

when I said it was depressing I wasn't complaning about it, I was describing the album the way I see it. It is not necessarily a bad trait. It is dark but also depressing. I did like the album. I've listened to it many times already.
I wouldn't recomend this album to someone in depression, though, because that person could commit suicide. I'm not even joking. Fortunately I'm not depressed, so I can enjoy the album. but I'm trying to avoid the instrumental songs because those are the saddest ones.
I adore Dark Water. It's by far my fav in the album. PTB is really sensual. CSWC is very thought provoking and I like the irregular beats. Lockdown is growing on me a lot, I just can't stand the drums at the second chorus, it sounds like the drummer made some mistakes, and I know that's not the case but that's how it sounds to me. In general it is a cool album and I'm happy for Amy. I hope she continues experimenting with music.

The album reached the top 15 of the US iTunes chart Meanwhile, it dropped off the top 15 in Australia. Welp, at least it reached top 10 there for awhile.

Does anyone know the top chart positions the album has been across the world? Peak positions on iTunes charts are not archived anywhere, so probably not. The album went #1 in Greece when it was available to preorder, and it also peaked at Australia at #10, that's all I can remember.

Hey Everyone, make sure to rate the album FIVE stars wherever you bought it at. Some people are hating on this album HARD cause they can't comprehend that this isn't Evanescence (and their brains can't handle instrumental music) and they are giving it shitty reviews. Click those FIVE STARS!!! Please and thank you.

^ TRUE! That's the first thing I did as soon as I got the album. It's important, there's a lot of misconceptions thanks to some "fans". Has anyone noticed Amy's page on iTunes? At least on iTunes Portugal it looks like this:

Wow, that background is wonderful. I remember that on the iTunes Aftermath page there was still that hateful comment "WHY YOU IDIOTS DO THIS?!" on the top, you should fix that when i'll be home, i'll check my options to rate it on itunes and on google play too.

(and their brains can't handle instrumental music) Too true. The amount of times I've had "Why do you like this? There are no words" or "it's so boring, there's nothing to sing along to". I used to DJ in a club a few years back. One day I put an instrumental club/trance track on and had some girl come up to me demanding that I change the track because she couldn't sing along to it ...just... just... I don't want to live on this planet anymore... If you've listened to the album, taken it in and it generally doesn't do anything for you, then fair enough, but the reasons people are giving for hating it are ridiculous. People need to open their minds a little!

People need to open their minds a little! Well, if I was at this club at that particular moment I would have been more than happy to dance to an instrumental track. Kinda makes you wonder if people actually hear the instrumentation of songs with vocals in it or if they somehow block it out. Sure, Amy has a beautiful voice, but she's a fabulous musician too. I hope we get more film scores from her soonish.
