Looks like for the European tour they started using a Yamaha. I wonder what happened to the Steinway...

The_Sacrificed AeternusAmatorius Yeah, I can't see it being practical/worth flying over even a baby grand so they will have had to have hired out a piano. Yamahas are far cheaper and easier to get hold of in most parts of Europe so this was probably cost saving.

Steinway in America sponsored them so they were possibly able to rent it for free or a heavily discounted rate. I’m sure it had stipulations and meticulously inspect the condition of the piano before and after the tour, as transporting it to multiple venues will have a high likelihood of scratching and dinging it. Plus even if they were able to rent it for free or cheap, they had to pay to transport it. And unlike other tours where they use a piano case and her digital piano, the Steinway is legit on the inside as well. I’m thinking the sponsorship didn’t extend to outside of the US or that insurance to take it out of the country was astronomical plus tuning it as soon as it reached the overseas destination and back would have been an extra cost. Etc etc etc etc |
