Lockdown just rips at my heart. I can feel an incredible understanding with this track. It's so raw and personal. Like someone on twitter mentioned, if her music sounds like this, just imagine what the Lilywhite stuff sounds like.

(Hi guys, just registered.. was an old-time member at the previous evthreads. And then was just lurking here. ) Wow.. just wow. Lockdown really surprised me. I listened to the album in order (despite my phone that was intent on shuffling ), and by the time I got to Lockdown the album had trapped me in it's beautiful atmosphere. To be honest, the whole album blew me away, I guess because I didn't have any expectations. The previous instrumental track was making me tear up but I held back because I was sitting outside in public. But then, the bridge in Lockdown hit me like an emotional freight train and I couldn't stop crying. Been dealing with a lot of issues and stress at the moment, and that bridge.. oh lord, that bridge just opened the gate. Amy's voice was so quiet and subdued on the few tracks she sang in, that I suppose when she belted into the pause of the track, she just knocked me down a few hundred pegs. I loved the shift in the song, and the added drums to keep the track fresh and new until the very end.

HER VOICE. HER VOICE. I LOVE IT. I LUUUURVE IT!! Although I wasn't initially a big fan of the "chorus", I'm really starting to like it now. The feels, the feels.

I'm confused as to why this song is labelled as featuring Dave Eggar when he's not credited as having been a part of the performance in the booklet... Because he was one of the producers for the song...? I think I'm going to need to give Lockdown a few listens before I really start to hear it, if that makes sense. I'm not too big a fan of the vibrato in Amy's voice during the verses, so I think I'll have to get used to it first. The back-up vocals are really cool, though, and I really love the chorus. I also felt the same on the first listen, but I thought they were more of an echo than a vibrato type thing... *shrug* I thought to myself "This wasn't in any of the previews". And I was very confused and disliked it. If it wasn't for the amazing chorus and the "ah"'s I may not have liked it. :/ (Hi guys, just registered.. was an old-time member at the previous evthreads. Also, sorry to hear about the issues you are having as of late. Hopefully you get through what you are going through with the support you need. If you need any help feel free to message me. EDIT: I had to transfer the songs from my laptop, to a flash drive, then to my desktop to load the songs to my iPod. It's too late right now to turn my laptop on to check, but does any one else's Lockdown have a glitch that sounds like someone accidentally hit the strings of the guitar while recording at minute marker 2:34? It happens twice at "...could say..." In the line of the chorus "if I could say the words"... It's kind of distracting... :/ It could just be a glitch from transferring, which is why I ask. Thanks in advance for your response!

Idk, I noticed it after a few listens and I just assumed it was there for a reason, not a glitch at all.

I actually like that "glitchy" noise. For some odd reason that particular moment reminds me of Serial Experiments: Lain

Lockdown surprisingly took about 3 listens to get into. Once I saw the lyrics and sat and fully listened to this song though, I was hooked. It's incredible it really is!

I get a pre-Fallen vibe from 'Lockdown.' It reminds me of 'Missing' a little, and when the 'aah aah' parts play just before the chorus I keep thinking she's going to go into that vocal run during the bridge of her acoustic feature on Korn's 'Freak on a Leash.' Is it just me that gets that?

I didn't mean it as a "glitch" per se in the actual "glitch" category. I just couldn't really explain myself too clearly with what I actually meant as like an accidental thing during file transfer that sometimes happens. Like a track gets glitched and messes the song up. Kind of like what used to happen during days of "burning" CDs and there would be a mistake or something in the process? Ya know..? lol. I tried and it seems like I'm being more confusing. lol. But hey, at least I know it is supposed to be there now. lol. Thanks guys! Also, am I the only one that doesn't get the "Origin" or pre-"Fallen" vibe from this song? I just don't hear it... I hear a lot of '80's style electronic type beats, though. lol.

I love the Origin-ish vibe this song has. I, as an Ev fan, always thought that the Origin vibe was lost for good and Amy was past that (and even more since she's been long without working with Ben Moody, for the reasons we all know). This song was like Christmas off-season to me, because that phase between Origin and Fallen was the best to me in terms of musical composition. Thank you, Amy <3

I totally thought she was going to start singing "Something takes a part of me..." from 'Freak on a Leash' after that, lol.

Lockdown is the most evanescence-ish thing on the album, and i think it's a gate for most people to get into Aftermath as a whole. I don't consider it bad, it's cool and i love the chorus so five hearts from me BTW. can anyone explain to me what does the "lockdown" mean in English? As i understood, it describes a certain status, a reaction. Is it meant like "she locked herself in" as a reaction to the bad situation? What can be used as the synonymum? (I'm trying to translate the lyrics so i can understand the feels, although i think i already quite know that meaning.)

(I'm trying to translate the lyrics so i can understand the feels, although i think i already quite know that meaning.) There are two types of lockdown. There's the type where an area is locked down for safety of others. Example, a college campus is on lockdown due to a bomb threat. Then there's the type Amy sings about: shutting down, locking your own self away from others for your own protection. Both types are for the same purpose, but one of them is more personal and internal.
