I don't hate the radio edit, but it's absolute crap in comparision to the original. I don't even understand why it was so, so necessary to edit the song SO much. I mean, they could have made it shorter but without including the dubstep beat and those "phew" sounds. I think those sounds don't really match the song. Maybe if they did something like this in another song, it wouldn't sound so out of place, but in this song in particular, it sounds like two different songs put together. Like a mush up, but not a good one. It just doesn't work. Also, they made it too fast. No emotion in the song anymore. Or maybe i'm biased because i already heard the original, maybe people will like it when they hear this version on the radio. Idk. All i know is that Wind-Up doesn't stop frustrating me. Please Ev, sign to another label for the next record, pleeeeaaasee!!!

Well after Kerrang! radio played the song, people were saying how they love the 'new' Evanescence song.

Some people who listen/watch/read Kerrang! hate Ev, saying they're 'pop' , guess the radio edit being the single of the week doesn't help. :/ Atleast the band are being promoted and stuff though. n_n

^^Yes, we have to see the bright side of the situation i guess. About some "Kerrangers" hating Ev because they think they're pop, well, i'm sort of over their stupidity. First, Ev is not exactly a pop band and second, i can't really stand people who believe that all pop is bad just because they don't like it. So, blah, whatever.

^word! Pop does not have to = bad! I love the fact that Ev has their own style, a little bit of everything. Why do people have to put a label on Everything?! >_>

Pop means "popular" which is exactly what we need. In the end, some people will like the song and some people will hate it. I think it's funny how some people are legitimately "upset" about the new version. Uh, there's an old version you can double click on your iTunes and it'll play just as loud as the radio edit. The music industry isn't what it used to be and musicians have to evolve or die out. Evanescence chooses to evolve, and the new version isn't bad at all. I really like the energy to it.

^^Well, you know, Evheads are passionate (according to Amy anyway), i'm not surprised at some people being legitimately upset.

I like the radio edit...just not as much as the actual album version. It feels as if Evanescence is being pushed to change their sound for the general public to widen their fanbase. The radio edit has a defining techno, almost dubstep feel...which is defiantly a popular sound today. I mean, Wind Up had "New Way to Bleed" and "Made of Stone" remixed for the Avenger's and Underworld soundtracks to appeal to the general public...now this. Evanescence's songs are good enough to appeal to the general public (Or even more than enough). I can imagine the album version of New Way To Bleed being played in the middle of The Avengers movie & Made of Stone in Underworld Awakening. Dear Wind-Up, stop making remixes for Ev songs! The originals are masterpieces I completely agree! the original songs are way better!!

I'd have to agree with danny on this one. I like the new edit of the song. The only two problems I have with it are: the piano intro was cut, and the flanger effect on Amy's voice. It can potentially cause those who have no idea about music and who hate Amy/Evanescence will say she uses autotune and cannot sing; when that is not the case.

They should cut the bullshit, be real with Ev and say, "You know what, we don't want you with us anymore so f--- off..."

Perhaps I'm the only one that doesn't know, but I must ask... When are we getting a video for this song? The video seems to be "lost in paradise", as my friend just said in an attempt to be punny XD

^i don't think we're getting one anymore, Amy avoided the subject in an interview and said oh it's just a rumor they are filming it on their break, we think it has to do with the label:(

MESS. What's the point of this? They're about to wrap this album cycle, I'm pretty sure the video is cancelled, and they come up with a single and radio edit that they sure as hell are not gonna be promoting?
I used to kinda defend Wind-Up, even though they clearly weren't as invested with Ev as they should. After all this is a rock band we're talking about, not some sellout sh*t that gives LP teas, and we all know rock bands are in the pits right now. But this is just getting ridiculous. I guess it's their loss, because after all this mess there's no way Amy is gonna renew her contract with them. If she were I would start thinking she hit her head real hard and now has some kind of contusion.

Ok, I don't hate the radio edit but I don't dig it at all. For me, it just seems off. I don't know, the Flanger processing, just takes a lot away from Amy's vocals in the album version. It's like the emotion is muted. It sounds rushed and speed up. They shouldn't have taken out the piano intro because that also takes out the cello. MHIB could get away with it a little but not LIP. The piano intro sets up the mood and the second verse is so emotional while building the full explosion of the band. There's no build up in the radio edit. Shoot, classic rock stations still play in full, Kashmir by Zepplin and Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen an those songs are longer than LIP. I mean, I'm glad radio listeners are catching on to it but I hope they check out the album version. I don't think LIP is incapable of being remixed but this was a generic job of it. Cause I LOVE the NWTB Photek remix and MOS. LIP needs someone like BT to remix it. He'd do a fantastic job. He'd be able to keep the main atmosphere of the song but also add the electronic element. Anyhow, I will be happy if it end up getting good radio play. It'll just never replace the album version for me.
