I made an instrumental of this song using Audacity. It also includes background vocals. Enjoy! ;D

'In a dream, will you give your love to me, beg my broken heart to beat' must be one of my all-time favourite lines in an Evsong or maybe in any song. Had to say that. Certainly in my top 3 of TOD songs.

Does anyone else feel that the first chorus of this song is really close to the chorus of WotW? I kind of think that the chorus lets the song down, but this is definitely one of my favourites on TOD.

Hmmm... I think the chorus of Cloud Nine is actually really great, but suffers from poor mixing on Amy's vocals. Those big, long notes should sound big, but instead they're mixed to sound thin and flat.... I've always thought she sounded like she was singing through a pair of plastic pipes on TOD. Plus the guitar part in C9's chorus is just slightly more interesting than the bland chords in WotW.... But it does seem to follow the pattern of Ev writing great verses with less interesting choruses.

The guitars in the chorus are just fantastic!
I love pretty much everything about this song- and it's got the classic ever so awesome middle 8 that just rocks your socks off!! ;D

The one song that has a very mediocre chorus in comparision to the verses is SWQ (imho). The verses are really, really nice, both in terms of lyrics and music, but the chorus is kinda blah. And then the middle eight takes the song to a whole new level of awesomeness. I love TOD's middle eights.
About this song, it has never been one of my favorite off TOD, but i've always loved the "if you wanna live..." part and the cool middle eight. The chorus bores me after a while, kinda like EotD's chorus. Great song, but the hig and loooong notes can get annoying after a while.

YES. SWQ is definitely the most disappointing chorus. That's the song I use as my go-to example of bad choruses, hehehehe.....

But it does seem to follow the pattern of Ev writing great verses with less interesting choruses. Gotta agree with you here. That song starts in a pretty awesome way, having those spooky back vocals accompanied by a pretty dark verse, so to say. As long as we move onwards to the chorus, however, it totally fails to impress me. It just lacks the energy needed for this song, and this could as well have been caused by poor mixing. Then we get back to the cool part, and then there's the chorus again, and then... the song just kinda stops being interesting in any way possible. In the end, C9 ends up on the same spooky note as started but it still doesn't compensate for the rest of the song. I mean, don't get me wrong; the track is okayish but I definitely couldn't put it on my list of favourite Ev songs. In order to be featured on it, a song requires a lot more than just some nice sounding verses and back vocals. Other than that, the lyrics to C9 are pretty nice, especially those lines: Remember that all alone Is where I belong

I just noticed how awesome the guitar is in the chorus of this song.
