So I wanted this thread to be about themes we felt would be interesting for Amy Lee and/or Evanescence as a band to explore in their future music.
For me, Evanescence music has always been a perfect match for the story of the Titanic. A beautiful new ship sailing on its maiden voyage into the cold, quiet and desolate moonless light with most aboard soundly asleep. Disaster strikes at the hands of known ice and many watch slowly as the still-lit decks rise like a skyscraper into the star-studded sky, disappearing into the freezing black ocean that closes over a city worth of people to the sound of the band solemnly playing the melancholy tune of a hymn on their violins until the end. Then, 74 years later its mysterious wreck is discovered, aged and decayed but still beautiful in its own unique way in the lonesome abyss of the North Atlantic.
Another theme is that of A.I - Artificial Intelligence. The adventure of searching for the majestic Blue Fairy, who serves almost as a goddess figure to David in a quest inspired by and a testimony of the power of maternal love. It's such a deep story with many facets and layers about what it means to love, to be an individual and to be human. But most importantly, this idea of seeking your heart's greatest wish, and what we as people choose to have faith in and the beliefs we cherish with child-like innocence that make us who we are.
I'd love Amy Lee or Evanescence to explore these, if even in a remote sense, someday in their lyrics and music.
