Wind-Up has sold master recordings to The Bicycle Music Company. (I couldn't think of a thread name, so I went with that. Mods, change it to something more appropriate if needed. haha) www.winduprecords.com/news/happenings-wind-up/

I think Wind-Up transferred their artists to a new label? I have no idea, I thought this was important.

I think this means that they're going to concentrate more on being an independant label than a big-name-band label, which is why the bands listed were the more successful of the Wind-Up acts. Whether that means Ev is on a different label or not, I don't know. It does seem a little confusing, and I don't know that much about the business side of the industry.

I hope this means they are on a new label and they will get the promotion they deserve!

They sold the ownership of the recordings, which means that if a movie, Tv show or a tv advertising company want ev music in their production then they have to go to this new company to ask for and buy a licence to use that Recording of the song instead of windup. They will still have to pay royalties to the Writers/Composers of the music because thats a separate thing. This also means this new company has control over the release and or RE Release of new or old material..... They could of sold the master of If you Don't mind and or Your love... if they exist as Masters and not just demos. This is sort of exciting but there are a few things that are still unclear I don't think this means Ev moving to a different label but perhaps this new company will be taking care of the promotion of new material. Windup pays for the recordings to be done then sells them to this new company then they then own it and take control of the promotion and distributing etc ? mmm not sure. It could just be a Back catalogue thing because i don't see WindUp letting go of the artists that pay their bills. EDIT: Did some light digging found this press release Bicycle music Press Releasethis is their website: linkthis is the other company mentioned i believe link

I'm assuming this increases the likelihood for an Ev best of at some point in the near future then? Easy way of making some extra money on the master recordings.

So on the Wind-Up website, they still have Evanescence listed under their Artists, but yet all the other artists listed in the article, such as Seether and Creed, are gone. Is that weird?

i also found this article which contained this interesting quote. www.billboard.com/biz/articles/news/record-labels/5777964/bicycle-music-acquires-wind-up-records-back-catalog-cuts though i have a feeling this dose not mean Evanescence because of what Zero79 said. i had a look too and out do may be Only some of the bands that were named in this deal have jumped labels? Evanescence is still on their website but Creed, Seether and Alter Bridge and Finger Eleven are no longer listed on the Wind Up website? In fact Creed and Finger Eleven now appear on the The Bicycle Music Company's website on the scrolling bar. but only those two so far. Which makes me think if Evanescence make a new album they will still be doing it with windup BUT these new companies "MAYBE" taking care of the Promotion/Marketing which will be a big improvement. but as of now they are still under Wind Up unless we hear otherwise. Could be something to do with the four album deal thing? Who Knows. This shit is too confusing.

Maybe it just took them a while to move all the artists names over?
