Someone said about Amy panting in this song, and I actually heard it this time. Could it be intentional though? It sounds super loud, I'm surprised I never picked up on it before.

I always felt it was intentional, just because of the fact it fit the song so well.

Anything For You -Located on the album(s): NOWHERE! Where is that B-Side & Rarities album when you need it?! -BMI Work #11377612 -Length Time: 3:25 -Acoustic Version Available? [NO] -Live Version Available? [NO] Lyrics: 0:00 - 0:09 I'd give anything to give me to you Can you forget the world that you thought you knew? If you want me Come and find me (I'm here for you)Nothing's stopping you so please release me I'll believe All your lies Just pretend you love me Make believe Close your eyes I'll be anything for you 0:57 - 1:05 Nothing left to make me feel anymore There's only you and everyday I need more (ahh)(If you want me)If you want me (Come and find me)Come and find me (Anything you want me to be)I'll do anything you say, just tell me. (Anything for you)I'll believe All your lies Just pretend you love me Make believe Close your eyes I'll be anything for you I'll believe All your lies Just pretend you love me Make believe Close your eyes I'll be anything for you Anything for you I'll become your earth and sky Forever never die I'll be (ha ha) everything you need I'll believe All your lies Just pretend you love me Make believe Close your eyes I'll be anything for you I'll believe All your lies Just pretend you love me Make believe Close your eyes I'll be anything for you 3:19 - 3:25 Song: Some Things To Think About/Debate Over -Hey, does the choir background during the chorus sound familiar? Yes, that is Mozart! Amy uses Mozart again in The Open Door's "Lacrymosa." This is Amy Lee's favorite choir mass. This song features Mozart's "Lacrimosa" form his famous "Requiem," in which there is a chior singing.
The Chior is singing:
Lacrimosa dies illa Qua resurget ex favilla Judicandus homo reus. Huic ergo parce, Deus, Pie Jesu Domine, Dona eis requiem.
Translation:
Mournful that day When from the dust shall rise Guilty man to be judged. Therefore spare him, O God. Merciful Jesus, Lord Grant them rest. -The EvReference says that this song is the fastest song in terms of tempo (is this true after the EV LP release?). EvReference also says this: The sample used at the beginning of the song is "Bringin It Up" from Sony's Futurist Drum 'N' Bass loop series. SOURCE-My notes seem to indicate that certain fans believe Ben (primarily) wrote this song. But why? This seems to contradict an EvRumor that the person that this song is addressed to, is the same person that Going Under is addressed to. The following is a quote from EvReference page, which was describing the song "Going Under:" The song is about Amy Lee's relationship with an abusive boyfriend. (Fans speculate that 'Anything For You' an unreleased demo, is also about him) But it can be used to describe any type of abusive relationship. This was before it was (revealed?) that Ben Moody was the abusive boyfriend in Going Under. Since it is EvScripture (? - Wasn't this said in that lawsuit when Amy sued her manager? Remember that? When they talked about her past with Ben? DoubleA, can you verify this?) that Going Under refers to Ben Moody it would be (therefore) unlikely (if the above theory is true) that Ben wrote Anything For You. Think of it this way, if the persona (who is infatuated with the second party) is suppose to be Ben (i.e. Ben speaking to Amy ala persona in AFY to the "you"), then the theory that the persona/"you" in AFY and GU are the same doesn't make sense. It contradicts the (EvScripture? EvLore?) that the persona in GU is Amy addressing the "you" that is Ben (of course, with some nuances. This isn't a 100% symbol for symbol allegory or something). In any case, both theories (Ben wrote AFY and the persona/"you" in AFY & GU are the same) are EvRumors. -"Anything For You" use to not be on the BMI list; it was added before the EV LP came out. The song "Surrender" is now the only 2001-2002 Demo not to be listed on the BMI website. THANKS to DoubleA for the lyrics and the videos are from FallenEvArmy!

I don't understand why everyone says that Anything for You samples Mozart's Lacrimosa. I don't hear it in Anything for You. All I hear is some kind of sampled choir.

They sped up the tempo a little, but it's definitely "Lacrimosa". And I can't make out if the choir is actually singing the words, but it's the same melody. I believe it's just one line from the piece repeated over and over with an increased tempo.

But Amy did say that they did sample with Lacrimosa and messed around with it in one of their Demos but she didn't say which one it was. Ugh!

That's been her favorite piece of music since she was a kid and saw Amadeus, right? What I'm wondering now is if they actually sampled a real choir singing it or if it's a digital one. I only just now realized that it doesn't really sound like they're singing the words. Can anyone with good ears tell if it's a real choir or not?

It's probably a real choir ripped from a CD of the Requiem added into the music editor they used and just sampled it that way. Remember some of the early 2001-2002 demos were recorded in Amy and Ben apartment before they were signed to Wind-Up. It doesn't sound too synth-like (like the one in the demos of Whisper) or digital-like to me. Then again, AFY is low quality so it could be distorted and be a digital or synth choir and we just don't know because of the low quality of the audio. lol.

I think that the choir is singing the words "dies illa" from the first part of Lacrimosa during the bridge. I can hear the strings that accompany the choir, so I'm going to say that it's a clip from a rip of Requiem. The 's' in "dies" isn't crisp at all, though, which could be because of something they altered to make it sound less like actual words. I don't know.

You all don't think they are saying "lacrimosa/dies illa/lacrimosa/dies illa"? Eek, now that I listen to it, I don't hear any of those words. All's I hear is eehhheee eehhheee eehhheee eehheee What about if we listen to those instrumentals that people made from ripping the vocals out of the song? It isn't perfect but the choir should be more prominent at least. Also what do you guys think they are saying when she sings "I'll believe all your lies, just pretend to love me" part? Isn't the choir still chanting something in the background? Was it suppose to be the part that comes after dies illa in the song?

Haha now we're all good and confused! That's a good idea to listen to an instrumental version though. I just did, and I personally still can't really make out actual words. Something about it sounds weird. I think they either edited a real choir sample to kind of muddle it, or it's digital. But now I can actually make out the string part! It's just really sped up and quiet, so it was hard for my ears to pick up. And the choir parts during the chorus in particular sound weird and not quite real to me. But someone with better ears should give it a listen.

When I was listening to this song I thought I heard this part: "I'll become your earth and sky Forever never die" a little different...like this : "I'll become your earth and sky [sky] Forever never die [die]" With a background echo... Is this just how I hear it or is there an echo?

Is this just how I hear it or is there an echo? The entire bridge is echoed so, yes, there is an echo on basically everything she sings at this part. So technically I guess it would be like this: I'll become (I'll become) your (your) earth (earth) and sky (and sky, sky)Forever (forever) never (never) die (die)I'll be (I'll be)Everything (everything) you need
