If you could rename Ev3....

I reckon it should have been something to do with oceans and/or colours since a number of the working titles of the songs had something to do with colours. I don't want to propose a suggestion as they all sound rubbish in my head but it's an idea.

It's weird after that long time... but the more I think about it, i'm sure that "Purple" would be the best title. It was the main theme of the entire tour and it kinda covers all that era.

I believe i don't have to emphasize how i loved all of it.

"Oceans" would be something different, I think - and I really hope that one day we will get another album containing that. Amy has a strong relationship to water. I'd love anything more (blue) connected to this theme.

To be honest it was my least favorite album of all. And there are a few lyrics I never learned. I just don't like the album in general, only a few songs here and there. I always knew this album was forced and didn't feel right when I listened to it. Almost like someone pointed a gun at the band's head and said: You're gonna write a rock album, end of story.

I know I'm being dramatic but that's what I extract from the songs on the album. I just don't like it.

But I agree that Oceans would be a cool name, specially because of the song Oceans and Never Go Back.

I think I wouldn't rename it. "Evanescence" seems to fit just well cause of what it meant for the band and the fanbase at that moment, first album recorded by the new lineup, it's like a statement: "here we are, Amy, Terry, Troy, Will and Tim, all together building this new album, we're Evanescence".

If I had to rename it, I guess I would go with something similar like EV3.

Back when the album was first being made and the tracklist was released many people voted for "Oceans". I can still see this. I think it would have fit the album perfectly

I'd have left it untitled. To me it feels like they were forced to name it. I don't know why, but it almost feels like they couldn't think of a name, and they just thought, well, it's got to have a name and this is as good an opportunity as any to have it self titled. The problem is, I guess, is that to have an album on the charts, it has to have a name for people to refer to it by. It will always be Ev3 to me. Evanescence's third album, and people can refer to it in whatever way describes it best for them, personally.

I also love it when an album cover is literally just a piece of artwork with no mandatory "album title + band name" element, it gives a little more mystique and gets you thinking about what the artwork and the music might represent.

I think it would have been fun for Amy to have named it "Happy Cupcake Funland: The Album" (for those who don't remember, before The Open Door came out, a LOT of people thought that since Ben was gone, it would be an album of sappy, My Immortal-esque songs since obviously the rock elements HAD to come from the guy. Amy made a post on EvThreads/EvBoard about how TOD would be just as rock heavy, if not more so, than Fallen and she made up the above title to emphasis her point). Anyway, I've always loved the name and wish she really would make something, even if it's an EP with BS songs or something. Also, since it seemed like she went this entire era pissed at the label, it would have been a hilarious way to stick it to them.

:L I really want Ev to write a ridiculously heavy mathcore/extreme metal fusion album now and call it this. I'm imagining a happy pink cartoon cupcake on the cover with loads of multi-coloured happy cupcakes on fairground rides in the background. THIS WOULD BE EPIC.

I'm thinking Renaissance as another name for Ev3. It sounds classy than Rebirth though both have the same meaning. The album has so much water themed songs so Oceans would be appropriate. The self titled album seems like "real Evanescence at last" but it isn't. The 3rd album was forced so it's part of Wind Up crappy promotions and not an album Amy wanted to (but I guessed she loved it too among her other works).
