I watched a video of Ev accepting a Grammy for either BMTL or My Immortal or something in 2004 and Ben was there with long hair and a beard. I know he was officially out of the band, but it struck me as really odd that he was there and went on stage with the band even though he didn't say anything. Is this what you're referring to? It was the Best New Artist award. David Hodges also got up and didn't say anything, so part of me thinks that they were probably required to attend because all three of them created Evanescence. I mean, it's possible that the business side of Ben leaving wasn't over yet, but that wouldn't explain why David was there since I don't think he was signed with Ben and Amy (if he was, I'm not sure why he wasn't required to do any of the other things that Ben and Amy had to do because of the contract (like interviews and stuff).

Thats the one! I didn't realize David was with them too. It makes a lot more sense now. It probably has to do with the fact that they all wrote and performed on Fallen. In-fact, I recently heard an interview with David Hodges on Pat Mongahan's podcast (the dude from Train), talking about his time in Ev. He was signed with Ev to Wind-Up and did the record with them, but he left right before the tour cycle for Fallen began. Didn't Ben leave on October 24th, 2003? I know Terry filled in for the rest of the tour, but I don't think they hired Terry fulltime until sometime in 2004. Normally tour-only members of bands don't do promotional spots, interviews and TV performances, so I'm picking that's what the deal was. Ben left the band, October 22nd. Terry was officially named as new guitarist, January 16, 2004 but he appeared at the band's performance at the Much Music Canada, December 14, 2003. I GUESS, from October 22nd to November, the band doesn't have any replacement yet for Ben. Maybe their performance at Much Music Canada, Terry is a live member? IDK. *shrugs*

Don't know where to mention this but here. Anyway, BMTL was used in a promo for the show "Dog, The Bounty Hunter".

I believe they were touring Europe when Ben left, and Amy didn't want to cancel any shows.

I went to see the band on Halloween 03 and John took care of lead guitar. I think Ben left more or less a week before that show in Germany, just before coming back to the UK. They then went on to postpone most of their US/Canada dates in November/December and resurfaced for a few dates at the end of the tour which I guess is where Terry came in.
I actually have a bootleg of the show that I went to that I bought on eBay around that time and Amy addressed Ben's disappearance to the crowd by saying, "Ben's flew home and we didn't wanna let him cancel our tour a-f*ckin'-gain, so we're still here for you, no matter what!"

I'd love to hear Amy say that. Lol.

Ben left October 22, 2003. His song, 10.22, is about that day-his side of the story, at least.

I don't remember if I was reading it or if I was listening to it, but there was an interview with Ben that I read/heard when I was in college and he was talking about how 10.22 was going to be about his side of the story, but as he was writing the song it ended up being a lot more introspective. Instead of being from him to the fans or about Amy, it ended up being about himself, and kind of to himself. I'll see if I can find the interview... EDIT: Found it, easy as pie. link

Do you have a chance to share that bootleg? ( To mods, sorry if I violate some rules.)

Do you have a chance to share that bootleg? ( To mods, sorry if I violate some rules.)We have no rules against bootlegs, which is clearly shown by the fact that we have a thread for bootlegs. However, I doubt there is a bootleg to share. Mobile phones didn't have cameras in 2003 and not many people owned a video camera.

If I remember, I will upload it when I return to the UK to visit family and friends as I've moved to Prague. It's not the best quality as it was 2003, but clear enough. I've just done a search and the same bootleg was available on Evboard back in 2009 but the link is dead so somebody out there must also have it.
