Meh, i don't think it's that bad the issue on her voice, i agree that she has a hard time singing live, but she only needs to do songs where she actually isn't belting ALL the time, so her voice can rest. She's belting during pretty much the whole of EV3, i've always thought that's unnecesary and she would benefit from singing less demanding songs. And i don't know where you get her supossed lack of enthusiasm from. I mean, sure, musicians have their down moments during tours like every other person in every other profession, but really, during this tour especially, i've seen her very happy and enthusiastic to be back most of the time, especially when she came to Latin America and other places they don't often visit. (She also lost her grandma along the way this time around and couldn't even attend the funeral). Besides, it's pretty clear that the band members are in great terms, not like it used to be when John, Rocky and Ben were around.
About getting an actual music video, even though they're not as popular as they once was and don't have half the money they used to, they're not poor at all, i'm sure they're able of doing an actual music video even if it's not all glamorous, a music video doesn't need to be glamorous to be good, and even if they only can deliver a lyrics video because they are really that poor at the moment, i've seen a bunch of fan videos by random fans that look much better. I have to guess that wind-up isn't doing a good work with Ev anymore, i'm not sure why they don't seem interested in giving Evanescence the best they can offer in terms of videos, promotion, etc, but that's what we have i guess.
I agree on Amy going solo or at least making a solo album someday, so we can hear what she really has to offer. I think both Ev and the label hold her creativity back, but I doubt she’d find much success going solo since the solo stuff we’ve heard from her so far doesn’t sound the slightest radio friendly, but who knows? Maybe with a certain producer and the right collaborations it could be a hit, I doubt it A LOT, though.
Anyway, I don’t even care if Ev or Amy experiment another Fallen mega-success, I see it unlikely whatever they try from now on. They do have, like someone said on another thread, a loyal and solid fanbase in several countries that’s always waiting from something by them or Amy, so I think either Ev or Amy (or both) could survive just fine doing quality music and somewhat decent music videos working with just that loyal fanbase that follows them everywhere. Many bands survive this way and do cool stuff, even though they’re not on the radio 24/7.
Just my two cents.

carolexodus: I agree with most of what you said. They probably never will have the success the had with Fallen, they have an awesome and strong fanbase, and they have a VERY strong line up now. Though, with success with Fallen, I'm not sure how many of you realize this, but Fallen came out right around the time of Daredevil. Ev had two songs from Fallen already in Daredevil and on the Soundtrack, so bam! That's basically free promotion right there! Not to mention, it was also a highly anticipated film. So obviously, they were going to have a lot of success just because of that. Not to mention that because of the extra promotion with Daredevil and the promotion from Wind-Up is most likely got Fallen it's sales as iTunes wasn't very popular around that time, so even if someone liked only ONE song on the album, they had to buy the entire album (this is how Fallen got my initial buy). Anyway, this thread is for The Change lyric video. The only "slide" I liked, that wasn't Ev related, was the candle one.

Yeah, also that, the movie. Forgot about that for a second.

2) The Open Door never reached number 1 on any music charts (to my knowledge) when it was released It actually debuted at #1 in the US and several other charts worldwide. Remember that "CMWYS" was a big hit! It reached the top 10 in the US, which I'm sure really boosted TOD's sales. And I do absolutely think that the sales of Ev's albums since Fallen have been affected by downloading. I believe it's a pretty well known fact now that downloading has affected everyone's sales in the business. Piracy has become increasingly normal and easy to do over the past 10 years, and it also became possible to buy individual tracks from services like ITunes rather than buying the whole album. Those things have absolutely affected album sales. Even the huge pop stars aren't bringing in the kind of numbers they used to. Just take a look at this list of albums certified Diamond by the RIAA: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIAA_certification#RIAA_Diamond_certifications The last Diamond album (other than Adele's freakishly successful 21) is from 2004. Sorry, I should've brought my post back to the actual thread topic. I disagree with the idea that Ev/Wind-Up couldn't afford to make a real video. There are countless musicians out there with way smaller budgets than Ev/Wind-Up have, that still make awesome videos. It just takes more innovation, creativity, and drive to make a great video with a small budget. And also finding the right people to work with - people who are going to care more about making great art than about getting a big check.

^ Oh my gosh thank you, SkillZ.
EDIT: I just saw the video for the first time-well half of it. I stopped watching half way through because I had the jist and it didn't hold my interest. I like some of the effects, but it was nowhere never Evanescence-y enough. You're so right Amy "It's not enough!" That's all I have to say.

Guys, the user has stated the use of all caps is a preference. We can't take away someone's preference nor their freedom of choice in the matter. They may also have a hard time seeing, which would be another reason to use all caps.

I always heard and saw people say that TOD never reached number one and never thought to check album sales because that's not something I check on. I also agree that there could have been a budget for an LIP video. It was probably just a lack of inspiration on Amy's part. Wind-Up probably hindered that inspiration and there may not have been much of a budget for a good music video that Amy would have been satisfied with. We all know Amy never puts out anything she isn't satisfied with. As for a music video for The Change, it wasn't a single so I wouldn't have expected a music video for it, though there could have been a better lyric video for it, like TOS, LIP or MHIB lyric video...
