This might be a long shot, but does anyone else remember this thing? It was this online radio station thing that Ev had back in (I believe) the summer of 2003. It was basically just a pre-recorded thing you opened up on their website that played some Ev songs and some of the band's favorite songs by other artists, and had some commentary in between by Amy and Ben. Even though it was repetitive, I still loved listening to it. It's how I got into several of my favorite artists.
I'm interested in knowing if anyone else remembers this thing and more so, if anyone has rips from this (yeah, a long shot). I've always wanted to hear it again, or at the very least, have a list of all the songs they played. Here's the songs I remember them playing by other artists:
- "Army of Me" by Bjork - "Sober" by Tool - "Injection" by Hans Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard - "Humming" (the live recording, I believe) by Portishead - "Roads" by Portishead
They always talked about the songs by other artists before playing them, just stuff like why they loved them or how the songs/artists influenced them. I remember them specifically talking about how they tried to mimic Portishead's "Roads" in the SA version of "Understanding".
But if anyone remembers anything about the Ev radio, I'd love to hear it!

I'm at least completely positive that they talked about trying to imitate a specific Portishead song in one of their older recordings, and I'm pretty sure it was these particular songs. I think you can really hear the influence too.

HEY! I think I remember this too! When I read that, I instantly remembered hearing something like this. Oh yay! I'm glad someone else remembers this! I don't feel as crazy now. This is an insanely cool piece of info. Do you remember anything else they said about any of their older songs? I always thought so too. I guess that's why it stuck with me. I don't think I would've noticed the similarity on my own, so it was really interesting to see them point it out and then I could easily hear it. I also always thought it'd be something cool to note on the EvRef, but we don't have a real source other than a memory. Unfortunately, I can't really remember any other specific tidbits. I really wish some obsessive fan out there had rips of this or a transcript or something, but sadly, I fear it may be lost forever.

It's a long shot, but Wind-Up might have it stashed away somewhere in the archives. Also sometimes that stuff gets saved in the way back machine website. For example when to go to www.evanescence.com during the TOD era, you can still listen to the music that they had on the little player. Do you know where the radio stream was located on the old website, I could have a look on the way back machine when I get home to see if it's playable

I don't have my computer right now, so it would be awesome if you could investigate. I think they had the radio going during the summer of 2003, but I could be wrong. I'd check around that time first, but it could've been a little before or after that.

I can't get anything to play from those, but I don't think that's where it was located anyway. I bet there was just a link to it in the news box that isn't visible anymore. (That stuff's not visible to anyone, right? It's not just me?) But yeah, it's probably just gone forever. Sigh.
