The next song will be here today at some point, but Ms. Onatopp finds herself unable to find the spare time! She's far too busy crushing people with her vice-like thighs.

I really like this song (breathe no more). One of my favorite ballads. I really like the demo version a lot more though. The guitars and drums were a nice touch.

Okay, my evgasm with this song is complete.... Out of the three sneak peeks we received in 2011 for Ev3, this one was my favorite. I wasn't the hugest fan of the beginning (probably because in the clip it didn't climax into anything) but the other part we got to hear almost made me cry. It was almost like a symbol Ev was back, haha...
I'll make this longer later...

Finally. I've been waiting for this song. Lost in Paradise is probably one of my favorite songs of all time. It reminds me of all my friends, and how I've hurt them and how I've helped them. I think this song is what really pushed me to find my own paradise/happiness.

I can't say "Lost In Paradise" is one of my favorite songs, but I will talk about all the wonderful things I like about it.
First of all, it has some heart-wrenchingly gorgeous melodies. Especially at the "you believed in me but I'm broken" and the "all I feel is this cruel wanting" parts. Something about the melodies of those parts just makes my heart sink. In a good way though.
This song also has some really beautiful, touching lyrics. Particularly, the first verse and chorus. Those first few lines are just heart-breaking. I think it actually might be amongst my favorite lines in an Ev song. I also really love the lines "I have nothing left, and all I feel is this cruel wanting". I think a lot of it has to do with the way she sings it that makes it so powerful. It's like an undercurrent in this wave of emotion that just pulls you under.
I definitely prefer the acoustic versions of this song. I guess I don't find that the band adds anything, and it's more emotional just stripped down. I think the way it was done on Sirius XM was best: just Amy, her piano, cello, and a little acoustic guitar. Beautiful. In fact, I think if it was done more like this on the album, it'd be higher up on my list of album favorites. Listening to this version in particular is making me realize that it really is a beautiful and good song. I think the addition of the band and overdone strings and production just takes away from it's true beauty and intimacy.

This is one of my favorite Evanescence songs; I love it so much. I cried during this song when they played it at the show I went to. I remember when I heard it in full for the first time I totally started bawling when she said "broken" in the first verse. So gorgeous, but she ripped my heart to pieces. The performance for The Session that Amy did with only vocals and piano also really tugged at my heart strings, especially "'cause they won't let me go 'till I have nothing left..." I wish the piano-vocal version could be officially released. Don't get me wrong, I love the studio version, but I love that one too. Crap. Now I'm crying.

I've been wondering... If this song's lyrics were written as a sentence, would it go like this "I have nothing left and all I feel is this cruel wanting. We've been falling for all this time and now I'm lost in paradise." OR, "I have nothing left and all I feel is this cruel wanting we've been falling for all this time and now I'm lost in paradise." Of course, the second is a bit of a run-on, but in the context of a song that doesn't matter. What matters is that the meaning of the two sentences is entirely different. I prefer the second where it is "this cruel wanting we've been falling for all this time" instead of the falling line being almost meaningless. I love it when it implies that she fell for the cruel wanting, but not when she's falling because she's Amy Lee and that's what Amy Lee does.
