Even though I don't really enjoy the studio version, Sick has such power when hearing it live. I was a little bummed when they took it off the setlist!

Since five work days have passed, it's time for a new song of the week. I'm voting for Forever You.

Hey, hey, hey! Back up off my grill, yo! Maybe I've been stricken with consumption and must delay the next song while I'm at the doctor's getting my unfortunate diagnosis. Maybe I'm...... Sick.
*ding*
But I'm not. The next song will be coming soon.

I wanted to suggest a song off TOD next. I don't mind which really, but maybe Snow White Queen?

I agree with Aless, a TOD song would be a good idea. We've had one from both Fallen and Ev3, so it's only fair.

Ladies and gentlemen...
If you wanna live, I suggest you listen to Cloud Nine.

I love the verses, and the middle eight is awesome. This is one of the few songs I liked when I first listened to TOD (along with SWQ and GE). I would comment on the chorus, but we're supposed to only say nice things about songs in this thread.

We're also supposed to listen to songs (or parts of songs) that we don't like and try to find the good things about them Because this is the happy rainbows of lip gloss and coloring books fun-time kittens parade of joy . Also known as the HRLGCBFTKPJ ( ). For example, Sick is my least favorite song they have ever released. No, I can't even use the phrase "least favorite", because that would imply that I rank it among my favorites, or even songs I listen to. I hate that song 100%. BUT! I found at least three nice things to say about different aspects of the song, even though I hate every part of it. I recommend listening to the chorus of Cloud Nine several times and coming up with as many nice things to say about it as you can! From now on, everyone who includes polite 'discretion' in reference to their distaste for a song will be personally escorted to the back room and mercilessly spanked bare-bottom while Drifter watches and fondles her Evanescence cd's.

Yeah, that doesn't sound like a punishment.

You bet yer' behind we take spank requests! We also sell mufflers.
Something nice about Cloud Nine: I think it is one of the most underrated songs on TOD and successfully combines the more accessible sound of the first four songs with the darker, more alternative sound of the rest of the album.

Nicely put One of the first things that caught my attention in Cloud Nine was that creepy choir part in the verses; it's so awesome! I also really love the bridge and chorus This song was one of the first I listened to on repeat after buying The Open Door.

A song I finally enjoy!!!
Cloud Nine is and always has been one of the high lights off of The Open Door for me. I love the drums in the song, specifically in the verses. The chorus is so grand and amazing with Amy's vocals specifically, which really make the song for me. I just love this song, and I love the piano in the bridge and how it just sounds so natural to have that piano in the middle of a darker and slightly heavier song(which of course is what EV does)

Now that I'm done thinking about spankings, I should leave a nice comment on Cloud Nine.
It was one of the songs that I couldn't get into at first, but that changed pretty quickly. Amy's vocals in the verses and bridges are fantastic, and the chorus is one of the super-long-notes choruses that I enjoy. It's tons better than the chorus in WotW. I love that the lyrics in the verses are so sassy, and even when they switch tone in the choruses, they're still kind of punchy, and it really works with the style of the song. I love the guitar in the bridges, especially how it kind of dances with the strings in the second one. And have I mentioned those backing vocals? This is one of my favourite songs for backing vocals. They're positively luscious in the intro, verses, choruses, middle-eight... They give an exotic feel to the song; a lovely, almost Middle Eastern flavour, and that's one of the things that really set this song apart.
