I know that I don't automatically love every song on an album, but I'm interested in which Ev songs you guys had to give a few listens before they captivated you. Mine are as follows:
Fallen Taking Over Me Everybody's Fool My Last Breath (which baffles me because it's so fantastic)
The Open Door The Only One All That I'm Living For Your Star Lose Control If You Don't Mind
Evanescence The Other Side End of the Dream Say You Will
And also, Bleed, Field of Innocence and October were hard to listen to at first.

Every song on Fallen, except EF and MI (Band Version), and every song on TOD. Before Ev I just listened to what everyone else listened to, which everyone does when they're like 8, so it took me a while to get used to I guess.

The Otherside and Understanding (except the Sound Asleep version.) I still don't like Understanding much.

I still don't like Understanding much. Really? I think it's one of their best.

I still don't like Understanding much. Really? I think it's one of their best. Yeah. For some reason, I don't really like it. I'll still listen to it.

On Fallen, the only one I didn't care for at first was Haunted. I'd skip over it sometimes on my CD player. I've grown to love it now. And my two favorite songs on Fallen, Taking Over Me and Whisper, were both songs that I liked, but I didn't love them. It is weird, cause I didn't touch Fallen for like two years after TOD came out. Then my first time listening to Fallen again, those two songs just really blew me away. I couldn't believe how I thought they were "just good" before, haha.
On TOD, Snow White Queen and Good Enough were the only two that I couldn't get into at first. But they grew on me after a few weeks. And now Snow White Queen is actually one of my favorite songs to blast in my car and sing along with, haha. And for EV3, I loved the entire album first listen, except for Say You Will. Couldn't get into it, and there are even times now where I'm just not in the mood for it.

Evanescence is definitely a grow-on-you band. Jeez it has taken me years to fall in love with some of the songs. Fallen didn't take much, but it took me a hella long time to finally fall in love with Lose Control, Weight of the World, Cloud Nine, Like You and Your Star. On Evanescence pretty much every song took some time to fall in love with, with the most recent being LIP.

I didn't really have a problem with Fallen or pre-Fallen songs.
Well, I guess I had to learn to love all of TOD when it first came out. After that YS took a long time to love and it kind of baffled me because it seemed to be everyone's favorite.
For Ev3 it would be SYW and Sick. Actually, I liked Sick at first, then as time went on, liked it less. I would take SYW over Sick.

The Open Door: All That I'm Living For Together Again If You Don't Mind

Out of the older songs, I can remember "So Close" and "Surrender" taking time to grow on me. "Anywhere" and "Before The Dawn" too, but I can only enjoy them when I'm in the right mood. Always hated "Listen to the Rain" and "Forgive Me".
Loved all of Fallen right off the bat.
On TOD, "CMWYS", "SWQ", and "TOO". I was only able to really appreciate "TOO" after seeing it live.
Ev3 as a whole was kind of a grower. Particular songs being "WYW", "MHIB", "Oceans", "Swimming Home", and "Disappear". Couldn't get into "Disappear" until I heard the live version. Not sure I'll ever really get into "Erase This", I still think "LIP" is just ok, and I'll always hate "Say You Will".

Oddly enough, anything from Fallen and anything previous to that, I never had to learn to love ... they all captivated me.
From TOD though: Cloud Nine Lose Control Like You
Ev3: Erase This The Change (I KNOW, I KNOW!)
