Just a quick question: How DID we end up knowing that this song existed? Did Amy ever say there was an outtake for TOD called If You Don't Mind? I'm pretty sure it was part of the b-side list that Amy gave us in an interview or something. It was listed as part of the Good Enough Single Release by mistake. I think it was also listed on the rumored Lithium CD and DVD single releases, and then someone was probably all like "Well, the 'Lithium' thing turned out to be false, let's try 'Good Enough'. Sooner or later we'll get it right." lol. I LOVE THAT GUITAR SOLO. they should do those things more often, really... i mean, come on Terry and Troy, give me ALL your sick guitar sounds! IYDM is earworm for me... Remember, it wasn't Terry and Troy that wrote the guitar parts. It was Terry and John. rogerpt, would you be able to post your other fan art too?

I'm pretty sure it was part of the b-side list that Amy gave us in an interview or something. Yes, Double A is right. We first got the name "If You Don't Mind" and "Together Again" when someone discovered the BMI site that had both songs listed. At the time, we didn't know that "The Narnia Song" = "Together Again," so we thought they were three different songs out of the 18 songs Renee said was on TOD. We didn't for-sure know that IYDM was a TOD outtake, but we assumed as much due to the writing credits. It was only until that ev.it interview where Amy said "Together Again" was the song they made for Narnia, and (as a result), we figured out that TA = TNS (albeit, TNS sounds different than both the TA (Demo) and the TA we have, since TNS has the GE intro.) It was officially 100% stated on the Metal Edge 2006 magazine interview that there existed three TOD outtakes: And the group even recorded enough material for three planned B-sides – “Together Again,” “If You Don’t Mind,” and “The Last Song I’m Wasting On You”. So we officially learned by then that IYDM, whatever it may sound like, was from the TOD sessions. A rumor came out that IYDM was going to come out in the Sweet Sacrifice single (not Lithium, which was the Ecotone rumor; nor Good Enough, which was the Together Again rumor) but it turned out to be just someone being stupid and posting the first part of "True" from the Silent Hill 2 OST. We didn't hear anything about IYDM until that TOD Outtakes CD thing popped up on E-Bay, and the rest well . . . you all lived it

Wow, thanks for the brilliant recap, DarkFlare89! Didn't even use to know half the info on it.

Actually, it was Terry and TERRY. John didn't write guitar parts for TOD, except for ATILF, (SUPPOSEDLY, although I doubt it, cause it would show in the style of the song itself). The guitar riff and solo scream of Terry's style. Sorry to be a purist but I loooove Terry and his work.

Yeah, I've always felt like either she jumped into a relationship with Josh too fast, or she dated him for way too short of a period of time before actually getting married. Either way, it's weird. But we're getting slightly off-topic... Um, sorry to continue this off-topic thingy, but I've read an interview from September 2006 where Amy said she's been dating Josh for 9 months. So, I guess they started dating late 2005/early 2006. I believe the song is about Shaun though.

Thank you for the recap on IYDM!
So is TOD album essentially complete now? We have it all?
And is Your Love the last B-sides from Ev we don't have?

Thank you for the recap on IYDM! So is TOD album essentially complete now? We have it all? And is Your Love the last B-sides from Ev we don't have? I'm afraid I can't 100% say that that is the case. The first problem is Renee & Michelle (Rocky's wife and sister) and their insistance that on THEIR TOD CD, they had 18 tracks. We only have sixteen songs accounted for. Which means there are either two other TOD tracks we don't know of AND are not registered under BMI or Renee and Michelle cannot count . The second problem is that TOD Outtake Promo CD thing that popped up on E-Bay a few months ago. There wouldn't be any reason to randomly put four instrumentals on there unless they are from the same era. For one, we still need the Together Again (Demo) AND "The Narnia Song" (i.e. the step before Together Again (Demo), which had the GE Intro and was only a piano ballad). Us getting If You Don't Mind was a wonderful accomplishment for the EvCommunity (w00t party everyone *sparkle sparkle*), but there is still the other things on that CD that would be nice to have. The final problem are the TOD demos, something that really hasn't had much commentary on. Little things here or there are sometimes said about them - CMWYS' different guitar part that Amy and Wind-Up fought over, for example. Nevertheless, we still don't have (and probably will not have anytime soon) those particular songs. About the B-Side list, while Your Love is the one that has most of the spotlight on, there are others. All of the Lillywhite songs, Catherine, Spanish, Faixia Five, Me in You (Studio), and so forth. But some of those are dreams beyond dreams. Maybe when that B-Side and Rarities album comes out . . .

LOL, this whole "donteventhinkaboutmentioningthatword!" thing just made me crack up so much ;D I was so damn confused at first, and then thought "ooooohh, it's THAT word". When i saw people on the Your Love thread talking about the L word i thought "what? lesbian?" Whatever, i just got home, completely unaware of the L word issue, so i'll see if i can hear that damn song once and for all. I'm always f**king away from the internet when interesting Ev-related things happen. For the next EvThreads awards there should be a category named "Most likely to be away from the internet when big Ev-related stuff happen" and i should totally win without competition at all. EDIT. Just heard it. Really like it much more now that i heard it in full, i still insist it needs an epic Tod-style bridge. But it sounds very nice and it has one of my favorite Ev choruses ever. The song sounds like something in between TOD and Ev3. It doesn't really fit most of Tod, but it's got not quite the vibe Ev3 has either, but it's somewhere in between. It'sweird.

^IYDM is the Jon Snow of the Evanescence world...its the little bastard child that could. ;D
For the record, I'm really in love with this. Especially after fixing that annoying volume drop in the guitar solo. WE FINALLY WON!
Out of curiosity though - and the modulars can inform me if this goes against the stated rules though I don't believe it does - could this be a precursor to Wind Up ACTUALLY releasing the song? I mean, its not been taken down and I'm sure more fans than I have tweeted about it/fb posted about it so I'm sure they know it available to us, however illegally. You would think that they would hurry up and release it officially or at least make an announcement about the song.

Remember, it wasn't Terry and Troy that wrote the guitar parts. It was Terry and John. I know, but after hearing Oceans and Disappear live, i think they both have WAY MORE to offer!! ;D

I do agree that an epic bridge would make the song even better. But I do love the guitar solo!

What L word? Lol. xD
I agree on the middle eight part. I think there should be a solo in there so we can have a remastered live version.

I think this year is the best time due to the fact Evanescence just finished their world tour in November, and all the hype created from releasing the live LIP video and IYDM...
