-A "funny" song meaning as posted by Ben Moody: Missing: Okay, this one's actually not about Ben. It's about Amy's old bike that felt neglected when Amy got a shiny new one

There's something special about this song... Its whispery vocals that sound so haunting, the other added elements which fit perfectly, Amy's voice being as beautiful and emotional as always. The lyrics to Missing make me question several matters of life, of our relations to people. This is the kind of song that makes us see what a wrong world we live in without presenting any global issues. It's just about our own selves, about our feelings and emotions.
Missing gives me that ultimate feeling of hopelessnesss which is so typical of the entire Fallen era. The whole song is about all these people who leave you behind without caring about you at all, without even saying a thing. At the same time though, Amy is the one apologizing and asking for forgiveness, as if that someone she was referring to has been a victim him-/herself, too. As if they also had a proper reason to leave her. It's kinda confusing but I have the feeling that sometimes, you just gotta let it go, despite which side you're on. It's just too much of a hard choice to make.
And after all, who doesn't want to be missed, to matter?
PS: Since I just saw you've commented on that one - the version from the Yahoo/Nissan session is amazing. I love the piano play, as well as the guitar parts in it. <3
As for the demo version of Missing, it sounds a bit too languid and moody for my taste, I think. Other than that, Amy's voice is beautiful on it; it's quite juvenile.

I was listening to a playlist i have on my computer the other day, with some old songs i haven't heard since the beginning of humanity, and Missing came in, a live version from 2007. I guess i fell in love with this song all over again.

I prefer the demo version of Missing. It's more atmospheric.

God, I still love this tune. I much prefer the Fallen B-side version to the demo version, though. The chorus of Amy's voice is heavenly. I really miss Amy using her voice this way - the one thing missing from the Ev3 era and onwards.
