Of course not, but i won't take her words too seriously, with Ev usually we don't know what's gonna happen till it happens. I'm still getting used to the new version of the forum. When i recieved a notification saying "rionka tagged you blah, blah" i was like "what?" Then i got it. Haha, I know, me too when I was tagged at first. But it's useful when i'm lazy to quote (twitter habits!)

Should we just forget about this? It has been way past the point where they said they would share it with us..... bummer.

Lol, Amy's reaction on the Origin: "Lot of fans think that the Origin was the real CD, the first album, but... gosh, it's demo!" and: "I couldn't be more proud of what this band is today." and "I AM a leader!" and: "I think that the core is in me. But on this album, I can hear all those layers and all the personalities, and it's beautiful to me." I like this part, she took it differently than earlier and it's like it's all so good with the guys just in the way it is : "I wrote some of the songs all by myself, yes, just because of they popped out when I was alone on the piano, but I like to leave all the cool stuff and riffs to the guys, let them handle that straight masculinity in the music like that, and then I can be like that... more flowery parts, i guess... I don't know what's the right word that I use for myself. You know what it is!" "I remember having plenty of talk with the suits about how would we gonna overcome that differences, when there's nothing like that in the radio right now, how you gonna break in? That's where the rap in the Bring Me To Life came from, because they threaten us that they won't put on the album and do anything, unless we full-time hire some dude to be in the band and sing too. And I said no!" and: "Male, female, whatever? Just be YOU." And the Scuzz guy keeps pronouncing "Fallen" as [foulen], that's funny. I'm just... in love with her hair again. Omg. ... BTW that thing about Amy feeling "egocentric" because she's "still talking about herself and she's sick of it" was also mentioned in this Black Velvet interview from the same UK tour. I think that she was just very, very exhausted of all the things in that moment. I really can't wait to get news about another new album, I believe in them.

It's a great interview for sure - Amy is in a great talkative mood here. The comment about leaving all the masculine stuff to the guys is quite funny - its like Amy's washing her hands from the great guitar riffs Ben did - letting him get on with it. Also, I think the part about the guy's guitar playing - is very interesting. Ben's style of playing is very powerful - yet can be very subltle at times as well - but its very distinctive. When you listen to the songs on Origin and Fallen - you can tell Ben's style - and it is really fantastic - sadly this is missing on the later albums. But the band has grown and developed in different ways - and Terry has taken to music to different heights. I'm also glad that the band didn't employ a full time rapper !

Im soo glad this finally came out i stayed up last night and watched it.
This is actually a nice time filler and im glad they took their time to upload it. its kind of nice in this dry spell.
Amy getting angry and hating the rap, saying evanescence wrong, saying frikin(thats a swear word right?) and other things made me lol soo hard.
i need to re watch it cause it was a lot to take in the first viewing.

Wow, I don't know if I just forgot, or I really never knew the extent of the label pushing the rap thing. I don't remember them mentioning that the label threatened to shut it all down unless they got a full time rapper. How weird. I'm so glad they stood their ground. Having it on just 1 song is not a bad compromise. I've personally grown to love the male parts on "BMTL" after going through a period of hating it. I think the dialogue aspect of it works for the song. Amy does make a good point about it putting a timestamp on the song though.
I hope that whole experience hasn't soured her to the idea of having guest male vocals on future songs. I'd honestly love to see it happen on the next Ev album. I think Amy would sound fantastic with a number of male vocalists; some that come to mind are Maynard James Keenan, Chino Moreno of Deftones, Pete Loeffler of Chevelle.
I also found it pretty interesting the way she talked about how there's no need to be signed to a record label to get your music out anymore. I hope this is a sign that she's thinking about going independent. I think they might be at a point where it could work for them.

Great interview! It's nice to see something new, even though it's in fact months old.
The rapper thing kills me. They basically wanted them to be another Linkin Park with a female singer. My boyfriend said they should have had a full time male singer/rapper. Blasphemy! Although I can admit I like the male parts in BMTL, that was never what got me hooked. It was the fact that I had never really heard a female sing rock like that. As stated in the interview, sure there was No Doubt and I knew of The Donnas, but those were more playful type bands. They weren't really epic or as serious like Ev. I just remember hearing her voice on top of all that thrashing music and thinking "Is this illegal? Is this humanly possible?" I think that label was too stupid to realize that it wasn't the rapping at all that got people hooked. It's because it was something new and being early on in a new decade, I think that's what we needed.
I do feel there are a couple songs that could have benefited from male vocals however. SWQ is one of these, seeing that the chorus is supposed to be the POV of the stalker. I've always kind of felt that from the beginning. Not rap of course, but something a little domineering. I've personally always imagined David Draiman (formerly of Disturbed and now of New Device) singing the chorus.
