It's a grower, I'm more into it already than I was just a few hours ago. It's anthemic and has a real "fuck you" energy that when added with her Trump tweet this morning just feels so damn good.

It's an anthem alright! I love it. Was a little surprised/disappointed the guest vocals were not more prominent though. One other thing, which I won't necessarily say is bad, is the verses kinda, sorta remind me of Nickleback. LOL. Guess that's where the "mainstream" complaint comes from.

Oooh there’s some theremin on there? I think that’s the weird noise I was hearing.

I'm not going to comment on mixing since I'm pretty sure my headphones are going out. I think this one seems better mixed (but again my headphones are dying lmao)
Part of it makes me think of Nightwish's Amaranth??
The full song did end up being better than the preview, thank god lmao. The song does sound like a generic 2010 rock song, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be from the preview.
It's better than My Heart is Broken, but not as good as What You Want or CMWYS. It is probably my favorite of the TBT songs so far.
I miss the dark, dramatic sound of Ev, but that really would have been overkill for this song.

I think the politics here is very much in the subtext, "build a wall" for Trump, mentioning guns, just the general feminist and anti-facist stance.

It's cheesy but I can totally see myself blasting this out on my way to vote. So it accomplished It's goal 😂

Sorry to double post but anyone else notice the official YouTube version is WAY quieter than the other versions? My Spotify version is at least double the volume on max.

Finally got to hear the new song this morning. It’s my favourite one yet from the new album. I can see why this was meant to be the first single it’s so catchy.

Funny you say that because I listened to the song in a filter called men on voice changer app and it sounds like Chad singing 😁😁😁😁

I don't know about this one... I want to like it but I think they could have done so much more. I saw someone say "uninspired" and it kinda feels like that to me too.
However, we gotta keep in mind that this was specifically done for a comic book/movie project. So far, we don't know when the song is used and the context might be everything.
All in all, I don't really know what to think. It lacks a bit of energy to me, it lacks a bit of bite. Maybe the live version will slap more ?

I hate it. haha =( Except for the riff at 3:20
I dislike that it's political. I agree with the person earlier who said that music should be an escape from politics. I hate the poppy gang vocal "oh, oh, oh ohs". I hate that the edge is gone from the music (in my opinion). It sort of seems like what happened to Linkin Park is happening to Evanescence, where they found a new, generic, sterile sound and just go for it in hopes of staying "relevant".
From an audio engineer's perspective, the production drives me up the wall. Same was true for Ev3 though. But I will say the bass is great sonically, and really well played here.
Currently not loving where this is going at all. Didn't really like the first single from TBT either. Dang... =(

I think this album was going to be very dividing from the start based on how Amy was talking about it. Some are gonna love it, some are gonna hate it, still others are not gonna know how to feel at all. Imagine all those times you’ve stated an opinion (I’m not referring to politics here) and multiple friends of yours have just changed their opinion of you entirely based on one thing, even though this is something you’ve passionately believed for a long time. This seems sort of like that. The band is finally getting to say what they want, without being choked by Wind-Up to conform to a certain image or message. They probably wouldn’t have liked that Amy brought other artists into the studio to join in. Especially her family. Or the fact that this was a comic for someone she has worked with before! In fact if Wind-Up had their way this song likely wouldn’t exist at all, at least not in this form.
I respect Amy a hell of a lot for choosing probably the riskiest possible thing to do exactly what she wants. I mean, at the end of the day, I think that’s what we’re all here to support. This album could so easily go under because of this raging pandemic that is basically keeping us in the states trapped in a horrible situation. While things seem to be improving elsewhere. But in other parts of the world, things aren’t much better. LGBT rights are being rolled back in several countries. Beirut is basically flattened by an explosion. I could go on. This feels like a beacon of hope.

I have to say that I don't find the music or lyrics so far all that different as to divide the fanbase so much. WoY is a mix of your regular melodic Ev song plus a bit of half way down the stairs-swimming home electronic vibe. TGIO is pretty Ev3 sounding and the lyrics are Sick-esque.
This one is a bit different but even with the political subject the lyrics are abstract enough to apply them to something else. And even if you can't ignore what it is about, it is not that ground-breaking or risky, it just says go vote and make your voice heard, which is pretty damn basic if you ask me.

I think this one is definitely a grower. I instantly fell in love with WOY and TGIO. So kinda shock that this was meant to be the first single. IMO.
My main issue is that is lacking some 'punch' to make the song more dynamic. And I definitely do not like the backing "oh's" they sound so generic and cliche to your generic anthem song.
On the other hand, I'm glad they ventured into the political stage and still keept it very them.
