My mom actually likes Ev. That always made me really happy, being able to play their music obsessively and know that she was actually enjoying it. Since she didn't approve of the venue they played at the first time they came to my town, she took me and my friends to see them play an acoustic set earlier in the day and get our copies of Fallen signed. And then when TOD came out, I went to visit her in Texas and we went to the concert together. I overheard her raving about how great it was and how amazing Amy's voice was to my aunt the next day. I don't think my dad thought they were bad, but he loved making fun of "BMTL". He'd sing along to the "wake me up" parts, but replace it with "shut me up, I can't shut up". I have to admit I got a kick out of it. My sister used to tease me about Ev all the time. But a couple years later, she admitted that she actually thought they were alright. She could just only handle them in smaller doses, so she got annoyed with me playing them incessantly.

sometimes I really wonder what would Fallen sound like if Ben didn't exist. I picture it sounding way less commercial, having more piano, choir, long low notes and have more songs sounding like Anywhere, Missing, Hello and Good Enough.... I don't know how different it would be, but I guess "God writes straight with crooked lines". If was only Amy on the record I'm sure we would never have heard about Ev, Amy isn't commercial and the label wanted a comercial band to sell and make some money, so I guess Ben was important to give the comercial side of the record. I guess Fallen without Ben would have been more solo piano songs, like hello, my immortal, Breath no more, etc, mixed with listen to the rain, even in death... I dont know. I guess it would have been similar to TOD.

I've come to appreciate this album a lot more when my days get really dark.

Hello guys, does anyone know when exactly the Fallen tour ended and the date of its last show? I know that for TOD tour the last show was December 9, 2007 (followed by two "secret" concerts in 2009) and in case of Ev3 era, the last show was November 9, 2012. These two results are easy to find by google. But I can't find this fact related to Fallen Era, probably because it's too long for people to know

rionka If I remember correctly, in the behind the scenes videos from ABH, I think Amy said that they were having prank night because they were in their hometown and it was the final show of the tour? The actual concert footage is from Paris. The year for the final show would have been 2004. 2005 was spent writing for TOD, and then towards the end of '05 and a good part of '06 was spent recording it.

This was apparently the last show for Fallen: August 14, 2004. Anyone know how accurate the setlist was/is for that last show? Then they did a performance on December 8, 2004. I think is when MI got messed up because they changed the key and the guitars were wrong.

What do you mean? I said that I think that was when they did MI and it got messed up because the guys were tuned wrong.

AeternusAmatorius you said that last performance of the Fallen tour was August 14, 2004. Then there was another show in December. And then nothing. So what was so special on the last December one?

Oh. Nothing. Just that it was a performance after the end of the Fallen tour so I wasn't sure which you wanted.

I love Fallen because it combined piano and orchestral parts with hard rock and driving guitar parts. I love the whole heavy and light mix, it seems so beautiful. I love Fallen because Amy wore lots of corsets and embraced a more gothic side, and this era is most closely connected with the pre-Fallen stuff. I love that she is so young yet so passionate and knows exactly what she wants to do.

Rediscovering Fallen, after not listening to it for a very long while, is very refreshing. I'm noticing things I haven't before or have forgotten about. It's amazing. The strings are so amazing!
