I think she will announce what the project is before Evanescence start touring cause otherwise rumors will start spreading after M&Gs. Fans will start pushing her to tell what it is and I don't know if she would be able to hold it back. So I think there will be an official announcement by April 20th.

This quote sticks out to me:
" So with all the strings, the programming, the guitars, the background vocals, and all of these things that go into our music, as wonderful as that all is, I’ve come to realize that sometimes you’re not hearing all that we’re doing because of all that is going on. I’ve come to sometimes enjoy being able to hear just one thing at a time a little bit."
I think it might be EV stripped back but done track by track.
I guess opening with a beautiful piano ballad, moving onto a heavy guitar song, then onto a full electronic song, onto a full strings only song etc etc. Every element evanescence is, just not together but separate.
OR
It's songs off previous albums reworked and stripped back in the format above.

Really interesting interview. The craziest thing that I could think of as to what this project is going to be about is that it could be an album full of stems. So we have individual tracks for guitars, vocals, etc. and maybe we could create our own version of the song. Possibly it could be a contest too where the best version ends up on the actual album as either the final version or a remix. Not exactly a new concept since countless artists have done this kind of thing, the Barenaked Ladies, Thrice, etc. Another awesome concept (at least to me ) that is something like the above but a bit different is instead of having an album full of stems, you actually have a song but you can turn off a stem or two or more. So if you want to hear an a capella version, you can turn off all the instrumental tracks and if you want to hear just the vocals, piano, and strings then you turn those on and off for the rest. Probably would only work as a digital release and you may need a software to be able to accomplish this though. This thing that Kaiser Chief did was cool too. I'd probably limit the song choice to 16 but keep the album track limit the same. I'd also have a universal album cover instead of custom artworks, unless there are elements that could tie all custom covers together so it's very coherent and looks like they are from one project. The most not out of the box idea I have is that it could be an acoustic album (new songs or old songs or could be both) or an audiovisual album, still would be good.

Ooohhh, i love the idea of turning on and off the stems! Isolating Amy's vocals with strings, then adding the guitar tracks in for something more dramatic!

Am I the only one wishing for new material? As much as I like the songs they have written so far, I'm starting to become sick of hearing the same thing over and over. They have been touring for three years now but no new material (Take Cover was such a relief!). I don't want to hear stripped down version of songs we already now, even though that would be awesome. I want to hear new stuff This idea is awesome.

^^You're not alone. I also hope for something new, with a new concept, whatever it's fine, but I'm hoping for new music (although I'd love to get some of those Lillywhite songs, they could count as new since we never heard some of them and the ones we have would sound different in their original form).

The first thing that came to mind was the way Halestorm did their latest album, You can't isolate any part of their songs because they recorded the whole thing in a studio all together, kind of live...but not

I really am hoping it is brand new material and ideas. Either new or even unheard songs. If it's their songs reworked and stripped I will be a little sad. Especially with all the hype she is building from this!

I hope that it is new material also! After the Box Set I'm sure Amy will leave those albums behind and create something new for us, hopefully.

I'm sure it's new material: either brand new songs and ideas or reworked things we've never heard before. I don't think Amy would tease and hype this project so much if it was just old, reworked music everyone has listened to a thousand times. It's something more, we just have to wait a bit more until we FINALLY know what she has in mind!

I hope it's new/unreleased stuff. One or two reworks as bonus tracks would be ok though.

If non-traditional album is going to be released, I hope that it includes unreleased music from the Lillywhite sessions or a brand new material. I think it's very exciting!

My guess is a live album since they've been doing a lot of shows recently.

My guess is a live album since they've been doing a lot of shows recently. Amy has been working on it every day for the past couple of months as she said in the BUILD Series interview, so I doubt it's just a live album. But some live recordings could be part of it!

Based on her latest tweet I think there is going to be some sort of visual component to it
