Sooo... Amy said that they will release something this year but it won't be a studio album. Any guesses about what it will be? Maybe a live album? Maybe a remake of Origin (since they already remade Even In Death)??!! Maybe a cover album???
Reply with what you think it'll be, and what you want it to be!

I highly doubt they would remake Origin as Amy said at the release of the boxset that Origin is still pretty cringeworthy to her and EID was the only song she found had potential to be something more. Plus, Whisper, My Immortal, and Imaginary are already on Fallen.

I wonder what it could be...Maybe some remakes of older songs? They do a few of them pretty differently live now.

I hope they don't remake Origin. As guilty of this as I am myself (it is pretty cringeworthy having music you're not 100% happy with out there for people to listen to, so I can relate), I think it's a really good reflection of where Ev were musically back then, and without the full involvement of Ben and David, I don't think a full remake of Origin would really be the right thing to do. Yes, we still have the original, but I just feel out of respect for the original, it should be left largely alone. As for what I think it'll be, I don't know why, but I think there may be a visual element to it. I've noticed there have been quite a few interviews with Amy where she's been promoting film scores etc. and the interviewer has brought up the possibility of producing a film. She's always politely declined as she sees it as being too much work with her "obsessive personality", but I'm wondering whether this regular question has planted an idea in her head. She's got contacts with Hammerstep guys, Dave Eggar (who's really given her a big step up in terms of working her way into film) and she's on first name terms with quite a few film producers and actors now (via the films she's worked on and film events she's attended). I'm not saying we're going to get a full length feature of the style of Nightwish and similar bands, but I get the feeling (just speculating, this really isn't grounded in anything, and knowing how unpredictable Amy is, I'm probably wrong) that we could have a really interesting hybrid between music and cinema. If so, I doubt it'll be anything quite like we've seen before. Whatever we get, I'm really excited now

Some people have said it could be a start up thing where we as the fans fund the album, we pay for certain things to happen and we get rewarded. So instead of a record label controlling it, we get to control it! It would make sense with the non traditional album thing and the different process which is what she said. She also said it is very involved which is what this would be.
Or it could also be a covers album that also would be non traditional and a different process.

So instead of a record label controlling it, we get to control it! Let's hope it's not that. Fans buy music from an artist because they like the way it sounds. The artist shouldn't be working for the fans. How can he get any feeling of fulfillment in this condition? Moreover, the songs would be more predictable and probably less risky. I don't know how to explain my point of view. I got the words in my mother tongue but they don't translate well in english

I'm confused... She said that it was a new album due out this fall just really different/unusual. Why is everyone saying it isn't an album?

I think this article helps explain it www.blabbermouth.net/news/evanescence-is-working-on-unique-new-project-its-definitely-new-territory-for-all-of-us/They are working on "something new a "project" Amy completely avoids using the word "album" so it's kind of going to be an album by the sounds of it, but not a traditional one, so who knows! As the article says, she keeps avoiding saying they are putting out an album, it's a project.

Yeah. The word 'album' has been invented by the press, because that's the norm and it's easier and attracts an audience faster if you say "New Ev album" rather than "new project-that-may-be-an-album-but-could-be-something-different-we're-not-sure". That said, I think she may have mentioned the word 'album' in the BUILD interview at some point, but to me it felt like it was more Amy doing just this and referring to the project in broad terms (and probably reflecting what it's being called in the press) rather than necessarily slipping that we're getting a classic album/LP format. We could still be getting an album of sorts, but nothing's been confirmed as yet.

Yea I think it will still be some sort of album format, but there's going to be something very different about it whether it's a start up project, or released in parts or whatever it may be

I definitely wouldn't mind this as long as there was a studio version to go with it.

An orchestral album could be awesome, it's one of my main guesses as well. Think Metallica's S&M album or EV at the Nobel Peace Prize concert!!! Bring it!!!

What if it's just one track? Not like an album of songs. Like a 40 minute thing that they're just passing around and recording and evolving.
