Just working my way around reinstalling/setting up iTunes. I've now remembered precisely why I uninstalled it in the first place, BUT IT'S WORTH IT BECAUSE AMY.

Oh look! isn't that the same chick from effervecent? Just saw the movie. enjoyed watching it and even though in my opinion there were some weak points in story and screenplay, it was a pretty decent movie with great acting and filming and it had one of the most beautiful locations i've ever seen. you almost can't find a single ugly/ordinary frame in the whole movie. I loved it how exactly in the right time and in the end Amy's song begins. it perfectly matches the story and is the most perfect possible ending for this movie. we already listened to it hundreds of times and had our personal feelings towards it but it's only after watching the movie that you notice what a great job Amy's done as a "movie song writer" on this song and how excellent she has tailor made the song for this movie.

There is a part of this song that's bugging me and I want to know if anyone else has noticed. When Amy begins "Be still my love, I will return to you. However far you feel from me, you are not alone. I will always be waiting and i'll always be watching you. Speak to me. Speak to me. Speak to (me)._______________________" and then there is this weird pause that feels like its a second too long? Does anyone know what i'm talking about? The part where she plays the one note on the piano. I feel like it would sound better if it started back up immediately after she plays that one note, but it pauses for just a moment longer and I don't like it. Someone tell me I'm not crazy.

It's definitely there, but I don't think it's too long.

Rarkphoenix RapturedLight I didn't cry but it was only after watching the movie that I noticed what an awesome job she's done and how perfect the song matches with the movie and it's much more than just a simple credit score. it is a part of movie for sure. it really adds something (something big!) to the movie and improves it just like a whole new sequence all played by Amy. What always amazes me about her is her commitment and how she always puts 150% of her heart and effort into every single project offered to her. big or small, and it doesn't matter for her if it gets accepted or not. this is very admirable. let's be honest and look at the movies she's worked on so far without any fanboy/girl prejudice. just remember the projects and the songs she's wrote for them. that BDABBT song for Cabin In The Woods or a whole album full of excellent ear catching solo piano pieces and a song like Lockdown just for a movie like War Story. or that Indigo Grey song that won an award! to be honest and unfortunately, non of the projects she has worked on so far was a rank A and very popular and a hit in sales with very high scores from critics. I don't want to say they were bad or worthless to be watched. maybe this VFTS was the best between all of them. (though I really really enjoyed watching it but it also had its own flaws and it wasn't like a big perfect movie that brings everyone to theaters) and this is so awesome. so wonderful to see these beautiful songs with such decent qualities all written by her without paying any attention about how big or successful the project is. She's one of those persons that you can count on even for a small high school class project and be sure that she'd even write a whole opera for you if it's needed.

She's one of those persons that you can count on even for a small high school class project and be sure that she'd even write a whole opera for you if it's needed. Yeah, she definitely does it more for the love of it than anything else. Another thing to consider is that as a successful musician with a big name in the form of Evanescence, it takes guts to jump into completely new territory by doing film scores. Yes, the Amy Lee brand is still a big one, but if you think back to when she first started submitting ideas for film, Evanescence was a far bigger name and the majority of non-fans wouldn't have known who she was unless she explicitly described herself as being "from Evanescence", something she's steered clear of doing. She doesn't need to do this to sustain a successful career. She's at the stage now where everything she does can be for the love of it, since she's fortunate enough to be financially stable and have a fanbase that will support her ideas as long as they're heartfelt and genuine. It'd be interesting to see if she actually turns down project offers if she feels she isn't suited to the role/feels like she can't do it justice. I think it's obvious VFTS was a rare case of Amy being the right fit for the film and the film being the right fit for her. Speak to Me defines that film in not just a lyrical, but a deeper, more emotional way and I think that's why it stirred me so much when I first watched it. You can almost feel how emotionally invested she must have been when she first watched it in a rawer form. She saw herself as being a part of that film and the music came from that place. I think collaborating with Michael Wandmacher helped too. It just meant that her contribution weaved seemlessly out of his own musical vision and didn't feel out of place.

Holy crap, the audio from the live performance of this song is great. Amy's voice has never sounded better live.
