Billions, actually, but very few of them have singing in them.... But!
I did just finish this!.... It's Erase This, hehe, so it's not even off topic ;D... I sang it over an instrumental I made.

Melt, I love your cover! I think you're the more professional singer compared to me. I sing everyday a looot, but it's not Youtubeworthy at all lol. Perhaps it depends on the person? You think ET is harder, I think EotD?

Nice cover, Melt! Your voice reminds me of a friend of mine that did an acapella song once here in my house.

Thanks, carolexodus... I tried to sing my ass off, hehehe. Melt, I love your cover! I think you're the more professional singer compared to me. If you only knew how unprofessional I was, haha... It definitely differs from person to person. Like, when I sing I always know I'm gonna have a hard time with lower songs (which actually makes the verses of EotD a little harder for me), but for a lot of people, especially guys, those parts are easy and comfortable. *insert lame everybody is special and unique moral* hehehe...

According to Amy this song's working title was Skarkfin Backpack, like how Disappear was Kraken

It had more then one working title. In the MTV interview with James I think she said Vanilla was Erase This and in a few other interviews I think she said the same. Plus in the MTV snippet videos, "Vanilla" is clearly a title on the white board.

Plus in the MTV snippet videos, "Vanilla" is clearly a title on the white board. DoubleA, I remember we talked before about how Erase This was a merging of two songs, right? So do you think it is possible that Erase This = Vanilla + Skarkfin Backpack? I.e. maybe the reason why Amy has now called it Skarkfin Backpack is because she is remembering the other song, and not Vanilla? Because even BMI.com has it listed (all of the working titles are listed) as ERASE THIS VANILLA. Or do you think that, when merging the two it one was more prominent over the other? DoubleA do you remember exactly what was merged together (wasn't it the guitar parts of one and the melody of the other or something? Erase This was the last one she wrote lyrics for/last one she finished, right?) Maybe the majority of this song was one song (Vanilla), but was incomplete and to complete it they took parts from something else that was incomplete (Skarkfin Backpack) to make it become complete and thus Erase This was born. Although the EvReference says that the lyrics too were merged together, which is something I did not remember her saying. So . . . what, is Erase This the frankenstein of the Ev LP? Merged music AND merged lyrics? Wha?

I think I remember her saying in an interview that it was the chorus and verse that were from two different songs... This makes sense musically because there is a very distinct change of chord progression between the two of them that I think Amy mentioned in said interview... I wish I could remember where I saw the interview... But anywho... It goes from E-C several times in the verse to F-D-A in the chorus out of nowhere which can sound really out of place if you don't play it just right. (I'm not sure about the climax of the song, though it would make sense because the "For it aaaaaall" part and the instrumental section is again C-E, but the instrumental is F-A, but that could have been deliberate after they'd already combined the two songs)...
Regardless of all of that, I freakin' love Sharkfin Backpack, haha.
... Maybe they're reminiscing about it because they're going to play it.... *repeatedly gets hopes up only to be disappointed*

^ yeah, it's funny how they'd randomly bring that up... Alas, they never played it. Still, at least it didn't get the End of the Dream treatment... It was played once upon a time. The song was a sign of things to come though, as she was going falsetto, lowering the key, and struggling through ET by the Little Rock show, loooong before the tour was over, hehehe... She just likes NGB too much to admit she couldn't sing it anymore by the end of the tour.
