I love SWQ, but it isn't really a live song.. That might have been one of the reasons too.

I can't save your life Though nothing I bleed for is more tormenting I'm losing my mind And you just stand there and stare as my world divides Best part of the entire song. <3

I LOOOVE SWQ! <3 Strangely enough, I didn't use to at first. It took me time to start liking it and the fact that song's actual meaning got revealed later on in time, certainly helped me a lot. Previously, I would be like: "What on Earth is she singing about?!" Haha. As much as it isn't really a live song, I envy anyone who's been lucky enough to hear it live. The atmosphere it creates is just so dark and chilly... All those music elements used in it totally creep me out at times, especially combined with the lyrics. Gotta agree on the chorus being rather flat and not really matching with the rest of the song all that much but it's still melodic and bearable. As for the weird mixing of vocals, I have the feeling it must have had to do with back vocals being such an essential part of TOD. Speaking of which, those fit just perfectly in the song. If it comes to the lyrics, I have a very odd personal interpretation of them. I kinda see (and feel) them as my interactions with certain people, how I've stalked/treated them, and how they've treated me back, haunting me to no ends. I'm not going to get into details here, but to me, SWQ is about me being the stalker and the victim (more like the suffering one) at the same time. It's about the ways in which those people have haunted me, how they've even managed to get into my sleep... It makes me feel taunted and sorry at the same time. PS: If you think about it, SWQ seems like the most suitable song for TOD's cover.

First song Amy and Terry wrote for TOD! At 1:52. Ring: can you add this to the EvRef? linkThis is really interesting! Do you think Terry means "we" as in Amy + Terry and this was the first collaborative song they wrote for TOD? I ask this because I thought TLSIWOY was the first one (per Blender 2004 article). I mean, Terry wouldn't know when that was written, since that was an Amy-only thing, so it makes sense that he would say SWQ first, but I'm just wondering for our purposes how we would classify them.

Amy + Terry. Remember that TLSIWOY was a b-side, so that technically wouldn't count as for the ALBUM if you know what I mean. Yes, AMY wrote TLSIWOY, well finished it, in 2004. It would make sense that SWQ was the first song they wrote since it was about the stalker experience she had in LA after all when she lived there.

Damn. i still remember the first day when I came with the brand new sealed TOD to my kitchen and then I put it to my player, sit down on the floor and listen. When SWQ came I got chills on my spine. I don't know about many albums with second half starting with something SO strong like that.

I don't know about many albums with second half starting with something SO strong like that. I remember this exact moment too. Except I was lame and downloaded the leak. But I immediately put it onto a CD, laid in bed, and listened to it. And when "SWQ" started, I was so taken aback. I couldn't believe Ev could make something that creepy! Definitely got chills. Pretty sure my jaw literally dropped too. I still think the verses of this song are one of the best things they've ever done musically.

Do you guys know where I can find an interview or something like that where Amy or someone who knows her talk about the story behind it? I know about the stalker thing, but I would like to know more, like when was it, do we know who the stalker was and etc.

We all know how private she is about things like this.

This is where Amy talked about the songs on TOD web.archive.org/web/20061016104811/http://www.vh1.com/news/articles/1540914/story.jhtmlI love the bridge of this song so much, everytime I listen to it I always repeat the bridge over again and again. I love how intense it sounds.
