Took a close listen to the bridge ladylollydragon (Kazlan) and I'm positive about petty much everything except the third line, I missed it. I had to fiddle with the audio a lot to hear that. I messed with the three different recordings we have and turned down the bass and messed with the treble and tried to isolate the vocals a bit and it came out quite clearly as "I know you hear me, I would." I got "I would give my life" after messing with it some more.

I hear "I want to see your face and hide and you'll wait, as long as you are with me." But that sound bitchy... Maybe it's "I want to see your face and hide and you'll wake, as long as you are with me." Maybe she was talking about Rumpelstiltskin. Yeah... Listening to it and messing with it in Goldwave, I really think it's "and you'll wake".

I just listened again to take in your suggestion, and I remember that Amy often sings words like 'I' and 'I'll' with a 'huh' sound at the start, so I think maybe it's "And I'd .... wake". I don't know. The more I listen, the harder it is to figure out, I think. And every time I think I have it, it suddenly sounds really different to me.

I haven't been active on here for a while. I've found myself even kind of disinterested in Ev with all the stress of life lately. I saw that Amy performed a new song and wasn't even that excited to check it out. But after listening to it...this reminded me of why I love Amy and this band. This song is stunning. Absolutely breath-takingly gorgeous. Her voice, the melodies, the exotic sound, the instrumentation. Perfection. I hope to god we get a studio recording of this. It's too amazing not to record and release. And this just made me seriously miss her and Ev. I really want a new album now. More stuff like this, please. Oh and I forgot to mention how catchy it is. I've only listened through twice, and it's already stuck in my head.

I love this song and it gives me chills! I read some of the posts here about the lyrics and yeah, it made me confused. I'll try to listen again and try to sharpen my ears to understand the lyrics of the song.

I understand the happiness for hear a new song for the first time! You just can't put the feeling in words... It was the same for me with If You Don't Mind at Porto Alegre/Brazil ahah That's a unique experience... Honestly, I'm happy for the people that were there!

I love the Middle Eastern/Arabian feel of the instrumentals that I get. I wonder if perhaps this song was part of the Lillywhite session re-worked or if it's something newer she'd been working on.
I DON'T MEAN TO SPARK ANY FLAMES. JUST THINKING OUT LOUD IN A WAY.
EDIT: This song is sexy. It doesn't have the suggestive lyrics like LC and SWQ, but it's all in the instrumentals and the happiness and confidence of the song.

I was also thinking about maybe it being a Lillywhite Session song reworked, but the way she said it "Dave and I wrote it together, actually." Suggests that it's been recently written as I don't remember her saying she wrote with Dave in 2009. I just remember her saying she wrote with "Science" and worked with Lillywhite.

Amy's enunciation is killing me, haha. I've listened to that line over and over again, and I agree with Kazlan, I think it's "and hide in your wake"... I originally thought it was wings, but I definitely hear the last part of the word being sharper, like a k sound. That also doesn't make sense in the context...
UGH. The more I listen to it, the less it makes sense, haha. At this point I hear "and Heidi will bake"...

It's so unclear to me that now I can only hear the vowels in those words, so it's "and hide ee oo ake". Lol.

Here I go over-analyzing again, but somehow this feels like it's about someone watching their loved one die. Maybe it's because while I was listening to it, it made me think of when I was watching my mother slowly give way to cancer. The lyrics fit so well ...

I am over the moon that I was one of the first people to hear this live...it made that night even more special and it was such a surprise. You could literally hear the whole room gasp when Amy said "Here is something new!" haha. I still have it stuck in my head...it is so haunting. Kinda reminds me of The Open Door...I really hope this gets the ball rolling for EV4 and it is similar to TOD era. <3
