^Not because of the pain of loss, but because of lack of her vocal performance, I don't think she'll ever sing Like You. I mean she can't sing this song live without changing some parts.

vocal wise, i think the only part she'd really struggle with and probably would need to tone down a bit is the last part of the bridge, when she goes "You're not alone, I'll be right beside you forevermore". The rest of the song doesn't sound like somehing she would struggle with too much. I mean, she shouldn't struggle with the verses and the choruses, they just don't sound difficult for Amy. She sings far more difficult songs off Ev3 nowadays, like NGB, MHIB or TC.

This song is downright easy vocally compared to Evanescence.
The highest note in this song is "mooooooooore" in an otherwise mid-range song. That high note is the same note (I'm pretty sure) as the "OOOOOOOOnly" in the chorus of Never Go Back, and the "liiiTHIIIIIum" in the last chorus of Lithium. It's lower than at least one note in Erase This (though, she had to lower the key on that song) and has been Amy's go to high note for most of her career. As long as she's still doing Never Go Back in it's original key, she shouldn't struggle much with Like You.... That said, after such a long tour she's been starting to change a lot of songs (like all the falsetto in the end of NGB)...
On another note..... Pun fully intended.
After listening to this song on youtube where someone had edited out the guitar part with one of those programs that... Edits out parts... I'm led to believe Like You's piano part wasn't recorded live. I know they wrote a lot on computers for TOD (it's very obvious too, especially on LY), but hearing the piano part in detail makes me think they just used piano samples and recorded the other instruments over a sampled piano part. You can hear that all the notes have the exact some pressure being applied (like, if you hit the keys softer or harder with your fingers... In Like You I can't notice any variance). It also maintains very strict, solid, and almost unnatural timing throughout the entire song. As someone who makes music using nothing but samples, I usually can recognize when they are used... And this case actually even comes off as amateurish... Poorly done. You have to put a lot of work into samples to make them sound like they're being played live, and without the guitar it doesn't sound like any effort was put into doing so.
I guess it doesn't matter since in the final product you can't hear any of that and it was probably necessary to keep the piano at a constant volume to be able to hear every note over the other instruments, but... Without the guitar it falls soooo flat. Of course, I could be entirely wrong and Amy plays piano like a robot, but... *shrug* I'm just ranting because I'm bored. Maybe I need to listen more closely...

I can't shake the feeling that they are gonna play Like You at Brasil!

They are? I think they could make this song really good live-I don't think Amy enjoys playing slow songs like this at a concert-she hates mi enough and probably just does it for the sake of the crowd

Most of you probably already heard about this, but they played a little bit of the Like You intro a few days ago. It's Lithium, starting with the Good Enough intro and a little bit of Like You. I want a full live performance of Like You <3 <3 Best intro in Evanescence history.

Absolute favourite song from TOD. I remember the first time I listened to the album, this was the only song that meant so much to me. Aaah, 2006 memories!

I gotta admit, I don't listen much to Like You, either. I hadn't lost a dear one until the late summer of 2011, yet all along, I've had difficulties listening to that song on a regular basis. It's just too damn powerful, too saddening. Amy's voice is so painfully honest and strong, and it just sounds so beautiful in a tormenting way...
The lyrics say it all; they tell her personal story. Dunno if it's just me, but I've found quite some contradictions in them. For instance:
I hate me for breathing without you I don't want to feel anymore for you
Grieving for you I'm not grieving for you
There's room inside for two And I'm not grieving for you I'm coming for you
It feels as if she's right in between feeling loving and numb. I wouldn't even be able to explain it properly, so I'm gonna leave that one to you. On top of that, there's also this part which reads as follows:
And as we lay in silent bliss I know you remember me
It's kinda like Amy separating illusion from reality for a spare second in order to imagine how it would've been like if her sis were yet to be alive. Those lines could as well be interpreted as what Amy longs for in her after-life. No clue, really.

Guys, I have a request. Anyone who plays piano, would you be able to possibly post a tutorial to the piano in Like You or possibly post a/your transcribed piano sheets? I have the TOD book but it just doesn't sound right when I'm playing some parts. And yes, I'm making sure I'm playing the right notes and the right keys.

What do you mean by "the TOD book," though? I'm confused... PS: Think I'm starting to get used to listening to that song more often...
