Lyrics:
The Last Song I'm Wasting On YouSparkling grey
They're my own veins
0:09 - 0:16
Any more than a whisper
Any sudden movement of my heart
And I know, I know I'll have to watch them pass away
Just get through this day
0:46 - 0:51
Give up your way
You could be anything
Give up my way and lose myself
Not today
That's too much guilt to pay
1:23 - 1:27
Sickened in the sun
You dare tell me you love me
But you held me down and screamed you wanted me to die
Honey you know, you know I'd never hurt you that way
You're just so pretty in your pain
2:06 - 2:10
Give up my way
And I could be anything
I'll make my own way
Without your senseless hate... hate... hate... hate
3:00 - 3:04
So run, run, run
And hate me if it feels good
I can't hear your screams anymore
You lied to me
But I'm older now
And I'm not buying baby
Demanding my response
Don't bother breaking the door down
I found my way out
And you'll never hurt me again
3:57 - 4:07

Some Things To Think About/Debate Over
-'The Last Song I'm Wasting On You' was first revealed/discussed in a Blender article (April 2004.) This makes it the first TOD song written after the Fallen songs (sans the chorus to 'Lithium,' which Amy wrote when she was 16). (**Double A, I think this is correct, but why do I have a nagging voice in my head saying that we found out something was written before this song. Am I going crazy or was there something else written before TLSIWOY?**)
Two nights ago, she finished a new song during sound check in Auckland, New Zealand. The track is tentatively called “The Last Song I’m Wasting on You.” She utters a giggly laugh. She won’t say who it’s about.
SOURCE-There has been some "conflicting" reports about whether or not this song is a joke. The confusion seems to stem from the Blender article claiming her laugh was 'giddy' when she wouldn't reveal who the song was about (I suppose it implied she was being flippant about it?) and Renee posting that it was a joke on the ev.it forums:
The new single is not " This is the last song thay I will write about you", or watever that has been circulating. They did write a song called that but it was more just for jest. It might pop up one of these days. Ya never know.
They did write a song " This is the last song I'm wasting on you" , but it was more for a joke. I will let Amy post all this stuff as it gets closer to the album coming out.

This was finally squashed by Amy who replied on EvThreads 1.0 about the lyrics and the content of the song itself:
This is probably super old and no one will see my reply but there is nothing about that song that is a joke. Im not sure what I said or was quoted as saying but that song is very real, personal, and literal.
No, you're right, it's "they're my own veins." I'll have to check to see if its wrong on the official site. thats weird.
SOURCE-It is with near certainty that this song is about Amy's abusive relationship with Ben Moody, as stated by Amy from SPIN Magazine (Oct 2006):
"Is 'The Last Song I'm Wasting on You' about Moody?"
"If I answer that, then I'm not hiding anything anymore. But I just sort of answered it, didn't I?"
SOURCE: PG 70-This song was first released digitally to people who pre-ordered 'The Open Door' on iTunes. It was released at the same time the album was.
-This was the first (and only) b-side released for 'The Open Door' for a LONG time. Together Again was released in 2010 and If You Don't Mind was released in 2013. It seems that the b-sides were planned to be released sometime DURING the TOD era, but Wind-Up being Wind-Up messed up the release schedule and those plans had to be altered. As stated from Metal Edge Magazine (Nov 2006):
"And the group even recorded enough material for three planned B-sides – “Together Again,” “If You Don’t Mind,” and “The Last Song I’m Wasting On You”."
SOURCE-This song found its first physical release on the Lithium 2 Track and 4 Track single as Track #2.
-Amy Lee on "The Last Song I'm Wasting On You"
This song came out of a moment where I had to be very strong and very independent. I was in the middle of a tour and felt so inspired to write that I recorded in the bathroom on this huge analog recording device. It’s definitely one of those personal, hard moments, when beauty is born out of pain.
SOURCETHANKS to DoubleA for the lyrics and the videos are from FallenEvArmy!
